Stewardship Message
For most, January is an exciting time of introspection and renewal. We all know someone who makes a bold New Year’s resolution and, for at least a little while, we want to believe that they will succeed in achieving their goal. But changing our behavior isn’t simple at all, is it? Even when we know the change is good for us, an internal struggle ultimately ensues and only time will tell if the change will be lasting or just something that we will try again next year.
Last year we began a conversation that would, for some, challenge previous notions regarding the true meaning of stewardship. We were asked to look past our traditional view of budgets and expenses and appreciate, with humility and gratitude, the totality of personal giving and sacrifice that routinely occurs within our community, also in the name of stewardship. When we take the time to recognize the many gifts of Time and Talent that are offered by so many within our parish and how they are intricately woven into our traditions and culture, it should lighten our hearts and assure us that the spirit of giving is a significant part of our spiritual legacy and one that strengthens us in Christ.
Your Stewardship Committee would like to thank you for your continued generosity in supporting the ever-changing needs of our community. If you haven’t done so already, please take a moment to complete and submit your 2016 Pledge Card to our church office.
As we look to the future, let us continue to focus on the act of giving, its importance in our spiritual lives and as we do so, let us strive to do more for His glory. May the Lord continue to bless and keep you.

It will also be a place for everyone to share their ideas. Please be sure to check out these sites!
Body Basics Parking Spaces
Please be reminded that one of our tenants, Body Basics, has been given permission to use two parking spaces off the alley near Park Blvd. on Sunday mornings. Please be respectful of that agreement and do not park in these two marked spaces on Sunday mornings. Please know that we are working diligently and moving forward to provide more parking for our church members. In the meantime, please pay attention to the signs marking the two spaces for Body Basics and do not block their customers from using those two designated spaces. Thank you.
Meals-On-Wheels of Greater San Diego
Meals on Wheeles is conducting a countywide campaign to identify seniors who struggle with maintaining their health, have difficulties shopping and cooking, or are disabled or home bound. Senior hunger is an often hidden and unspoken reality, and a senior in the community may greatly benefit from the program.
Dedicated and caring volunteers deliver well-balanced, nutritious meals six days a week throughout San Diego County, and need your help to reach those seniors and their families who may not know about the services provided. However, Meals-on-Wheels does not just provide meals; they offer a daily assurance to families regarding their seniors' health and wellness. They provide free information on home safety, healthy living, and caring for elderly family members. They also provide free pet food to all of our seniors each week, as well as supplemental items from Feeding America and San Diego Food Bank when available. Most importantly, this program allows seniors to stay in their omes and live as independently as possible. All of these wonderful benefits are provided at one very low daily cost. Philoptochos invites you and your family to commemorate a special Feast Day by sponsoring the floral adornments around the blessed icons. Throughout the liturgical year there are many opportunities to offer a decorated feast day icon on any scheduled feast day. Please consider honoring the saint or event of the liturgical year, ie Epiphany, The Nativity of our Lord, St. Nicholas, etc. This offering is a perfect way to not only honor a feast Day and a family member as well. Suggested donation for each decorated feast day icon is $75.00, and the donation needs to be mailed to the church office three (3) weeks prior to the feast/saints day.
