Dear Fellow Sojourner:
As I write this, I am reminded that winter is upon us, though mild here in San Diego, as friends who are visiting remind me of weather conditions in other parts of the country. The weather has not constricted our community activities, however, and I am warmed by the palpable sense of “community” within our faith community here at St. Spyridon.
If you attended our recent 2024 Epiphany Event, the crowd was alive with anticipation and appreciation for all the young people who dove for the Cross, for the presentation of the Leon Balaban Award, and for the lovely meal. Like many, I bought a "cake for a cause" from Philoptochos and shared it with my employees the following day as an appreciation for their dedication to their work.
We build community through our participation in the divine services of the Church and being active in the thirty-nine ministries of the parish. Thus, the Stewardship Committee once again, respectfully asks each of you to show your tangible support for the ministries and the “community” they support by making an honorable pledge to your beloved parish.
Please complete and mail your 2024 pledge card to the church office today. This pledge, your pledge, supports our thriving community which is most certainly growing and expanding its many activities and events. Or, you may do this online at www.stspyridon.org, or pay through your bank, or call the office at 619-297-4165 for any assistance you may need.
The Stewardship Committee,
John Kalas, Chairperson Father Andrew Scordalakis
