The Senior GOYAns had a great week at Camp Emmanuel. Keep Deacon Michael and our Junior GOYAns in your prayers as they travel to Camp Emmanuel today. They left at 6:25 am and will go to Divine Liturgy in Albuquerque at Saint George GOC. They will have lunch and wait for the other campers to arrive before travelling up to the Manzano Mountain Retreat, which hosts Camp Emmanuel once again this summer.
We will have a Parish Assembly on Sunday, June 25 after Divine Liturgy. This meeting will provide an update on the Transition from the Old Hall to the New Community Center, as well as a Festival Update and Treasurer's Report. Please remember that in order to participate in this (or any) Parish Assembly, one must be a "Parishioner in Good Standing" according to the Uniform Parish Regulations. Please make sure to prayerfully fill out and return your 2017 Stewardship Card before the Parish Assembly on June 25, 2017. If you have any questions abot Stewardship, please contact Father George. As always, we encourage all of you to attend and participate in the administration of our Community through the Parish Assembly. These are exciting times and it is a great time to be a part of Holy Trinity!
In preparation for the Demolition of the Old Hall, (scheduled for July 5th) the utilities will be shut down on June 26, after our Parish Assembly/Party on June 25
We have a limited quantity of the following items that will be sold after Divine Liturgy. Please come to the SLC library after Divine Liturgy to purchase:
Our Bible Study Classes will take a break this summer, and will begin again on August 22
We will have a Class about the Divine Liturgy on Tuesday, June 27. One class will be at 10:30 in the morning, and the other will be at 6:30 in the evening. We hope you will be able to be here as we learn a little about Saint John Chrysostom, and also explore the different 'parts' of the Divine Liturgy. We will also learn about some of the historical background and Biblical Foundation of the Divine Liturgy.
If you are not receiving emails from our Parish Listserv, you can subscribe from our website, or send an email to frgeo@htgoctulsa.org and Father George will add you to the list.
Prokeimenon. First Mode. Psalm 32.22,1.
Let your mercy, O Lord, be upon us.
Verse: Rejoice in the Lord, O ye righteous.
The reading is from St. Paul's Letter to the Romans 2:10-16.
Brethren, glory and honor and peace for every one who does good, the Jew first and also the Greek. For God shows no partiality. All who have sinned without the law will also perish without the law, and all who have sinned under the law will be judged by the law. For it is not the hearers of the law who are righteous before God, but the doers of the law who will be justified. When Gentiles who have not the law do by nature what the law requires, they are a law to themselves, even though they do not have the law. They show that what the law requires is written on their hearts, while their conscience also bears witness and their conflicting thoughts accuse or perhaps excuse them on that day when, according to my gospel, God judges the secrets of men by Christ Jesus.
First Mode.
2nd Sunday of Matthew
The Reading is from Matthew 4:18-23
At that time, as Jesus walked by the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon who is called Peter and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen. And he said to them, "Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men." Immediately they left their nets and followed him. And going on from there he saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee and John his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets, and he called them. Immediately they left their boat and their father, and followed him. And he went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and preaching the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every infirmity among the people.
