Light a Candle “From Afar”
Lighting a candle as we enter the narthex of the church is one real way we express our presence within the Body of Christ as we offer a prayer. If you would like to light a candle to express your presence “from afar” visit our website www.stspyridon.org and follow the directions found there. Then, Fr. Andrew will receive your message and light your candle and offer a prayer.
Outdoor Christmas Eve Services for the Birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ
My Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
As you are well aware, and because of the huge uptick in the spread of the coronavirus in our "Region" we have been asked to not have "in-person" services/gatherings. However, the state and local authorities have given the green light to "places of worship" to offer the divine services outside. Thus, once again our dedicated Parish Council members have stepped forward to provide this year's divine services outside in celebration of the Nativity of our Lord and Savior.
The service times and dates for this outside celebration are as follows -
December 24th, Christmas Eve evening - Orthros will begin at 5:00 pm followed by the Divine Liturgy at 6:00 pm.
All we ask is that you please RSVP to the following link - https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0A4EA8A92BA7FF2-christmas
This will allow us to have a better understanding of how many of you the faithful will be joining us so that we can properly and safely plan for your arrival. The process is quick and easy but if you need assistance please call the office at 619-297-4165.
Also, please remember to bring your jacket, sweater, etc., and your face mask.
This will be a memorable evening in the life of our parish so please help spread the word -
Christ is Born - Glorify Him!
Stewardship Corner
We, the Stewardship Committee, first and foremost, would once again like to say “thank you” for your continuing support of our stewardship ministry throughout this difficult and uncertain time. You will see a financial report in this monthly newsletter, and you can see for yourself the continued support from all of you to the on-going ministries of our Church – again, thank you.
Thus, with regard to our own parish history and our almost 100 years as St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church, we respectively ask you once again to do what you can do to financially support your church parish through this historic and unique time.
You may go to Parish Pay (on our parish website - stspyridon.org) - or mail in a check with your stewardship envelope or call the office or pay online through your autopay (ACH) with your bank. We, the Stewardship Committee, would like to finish our 2020 Stewardship efforts, “stewardship strong” to continue its most important work – serving you!
On behalf of the Parish Council, the Stewardship Committee once again says “thank you” and God bless you during this extraordinary season.
Sincerely and Respectfully,
The Stewardship Committee: John Kalas – Chairperson
