Fellowship Hour
Many thanks to all who have brought something for today's Community Pot Luck Fellowship Hour!
Make sure to check out the many blanks on the schedule for Fellowship Hour. What a wonderful opportunity to work together with another family to provide fellowship for your Parish Family!
Summer Sermon Series
During the Summer, Fr. Constantine will be treating each Liturgy as a "Teaching Liturgy" in so far as he will stop the Liturgy at a certain point each Sunday and preach the sermon which will be an explanation of that particular part of the Liturgy.
Festival Preparation Underway
Preparations for our Taste of Greece Festival are underway! The next Festival Committee Meeting will be Monday, July 23 at 6:00 pm.
You have already received in the mail information how to Buy a Piece of the Festival as well as a volunteer sign up sheet. These are two very important aspects of the Festival. Please take a moment to reflect on how you can help your Festival both actively and monetarily!
Taste and See that the Lord is Sweet
We are resuming our summer Bible Study, Taste and See that the Lord is Sweet, this Wednesday, July 18 at 6:30 pm. We will be looking at St. Paul's Epistle to the Philippians 1:18-26, with a video lecture by the famous Biblical Scholar N.T. Wright, an intense discussion and conversation, and a homemade dessert. Why not bring a friend?
Change of Schedule for Frankln Liturgy
We will be celebrating the Divine Liturgy at the Holy Transfiguration Church, Franklin, this Saturday, July 21 at 10:00 am (instead of July 14 as announced in the Monthly Bulletin).
Parish Outreach Ministry
Our Parish's Outreach Ministry comes under the oversight of the Ladies Philoptochos Society. In order to make our Outreach Ministry both more efficient and more intimate and personal, we are organizing it into specific ministries, some of which are already in operation and bearing much fruit, such as our monthly ministry at the Friendly Kitchen, others of which are being given greater definition and purpose, such as meals for shut-ins or our outreach to the homeless. Elena Newman is in charge of this section of the Philoptochos Ministry, and would like to see the Outreach ministries opened to all the parishioners to take part, since Outreach is really a responsibility of our whole Parish Family. To launch this new concept and to begin organizing and getting these ministries underway, there will be a meeting for everyone interested in helping the Outreach Ministry in some way (these ways will be discussed!) on Thursday, July 19 at 6:30 pm. Please see Elena or Father if you would like to participate, but cannot make the meeting. Men are invited to be a part of this ministry as well!
Don’t Forget About Your Stewardship Pledge
The summer months can be very difficult on the church budget, since people are away and tend to forget about their obligations to the church. Even if you are away during the summer, please remember to be regular with fulfilling your stewardship pledge. Even if you are not there, there are still bills to be paid! Thank you for your generosity!
Can You Sponsor the Monthly Bulletin?
We are looking for parishioners to sponsor each month’s Monthly Bulletin printing, so that we can relieve the burden on the copier and have it done at a printer. The cost for a “normal” month (outside of Lent and Pascha time) is $170 (if you would also like to sponsor the folding at the printer, it would be an extra $14). You can dedicate the Bulletin in honor of someone for a particular event (anniversary, birthday, Name Day, etc.) or in memory of a departed loved one. The dedication will be a banner on the front page. If you are interested, please speak with Tasso Toumpas. Thank you for your generosity!
Looking for Good Presents for Children, Godchildren or Grandchildren?
Are you in need of devotional items, like censers, incense, oil lamps, prayer ropes (koumboskinia)? Could you use a small, simple presentation of the life of a Saint in English or in Greek? Check out our new Holy Trinity Store. Please put the money in the basket; we are using the honor method. Make checks payable to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church.
