THE LORD IS WITH THEE!
There are a plethora of Orthodox services that focus and praise God for His greatness, because it is He who we owe everything to. However, in today's world this is not the case and approach of most of the general public. God is considered by most as a figment of a diluted and hopeless imagination and mind. Here is no space in them for the All Mighty. The laws promulgated today on our behalf exemplify this so-called social ideology.
Once God was praised from the rooftops, our homes, and in our schools. We learned the meaning of the Ten Commandments, saw the benefits of practicing them, and sung religious songs of all kinds in the school chorale. Now we have been striped of any reminder of His greatness and continued presence in our life. Once the Psalms were a joy to proclaim, now they hold no water for people at all.
In Psalm 47, listed below many of the young people today would reject the assertion directing them to perform. Why because it would offend someone, and more importantly would act as a trigger to them by clapping your hands. Even smiling has now become offensive to some. How far from God can we get, only God knows. Once He has been removed from every aspect of life the result will be no life at all. I'm afraid we are going down a very dangerous road alone without His help. He will never twist anyone's arm to make him/her praise Him. He expects us to recognize Him as the creator of all and the only one who has freed us from the curse of death because He loves us so much.
This is the way and the recognition He deserves from us demonstrated in Psalm 47. If you do it may begin to bring you peace and help through the pain attached to the thankless world we live in. Enjoy.
"Oh, clap your hands, all you peoples! Shout to God with the voice of triumph!
For the Lord Most High is awesome; He is a great King over all the earth.
He will subdue the peoples under us, And the nations under our feet.
He will choose our inheritance for us, The excellence of Jacob whom He loves. Selah
God has gone up with a shout, The Lord with the sound of a trumpet.
Sing praises to God, sing praises! Sing praises to our King, sing praises!
For God is the King of all the earth; Sing praises with understanding.
God reigns over the nations; God sits on His holy throne.
The princes of the people have gathered together, The people of the God of Abraham.
For the shields of the earth belong to God; He is greatly exalted."
What beautiful words and sentiment by the Psalmist. This psalm articulates all that God has done for His beloved people. When we lose the ability to recognize who and what He really is, we have lost everything. Then, our entire mindset changes about what He has done for us. Life will slowly become contingent upon our know needs and achievements if any.
Moreover, this leads to thinking that there is no room for anyone else except themselves. What a sad way of thinking! Our thoughts should always remain upon the continuous contemplation and exaltation of God. As is stated in a wonderful hymn we sing in the Divine Liturgy, "God is the Lord and hath revealed himself unto us. Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord."
I hope and pray that you never lose the love of praising God for everything, and that He in return will bless you with peace of heart all the days of your life. Amen!

Fourth Orthros Gospel
The Reading is from Luke 24:1-12
On the first day of the week, at early dawn, the women went to the tomb, taking the spices which they had prepared. And they found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they went in they did not find the body. While they were perplexed about this, behold, two men stood by them in dazzling apparel; and as they were frightened and bowed their faces to the ground, the men said to them, "Why do you seek the living among the dead? Remember how he told you, while he was still in Galilee, that the Son of man must be delivered in to the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and on the third day rise." And they remembered his words, and returning from the tomb they told all this to the eleven and to all the rest. Now it was Mary Magdalene, and Joanna and Mary the mother of James and the other women with them who told this to the apostles; but these words seemed to them an idle tale, and they did not believe them.
But Peter rose and ran to the tomb; stooping and looking in, he saw the linen cloths by themselves; and he went home wondering at what had happened.
Fourth Orthros Gospel
Prokeimenon. Grave Mode. Psalm 63.11,1.
The righteous shall rejoice in the Lord.
Verse: Oh God, hear my cry.
The reading is from St. Paul's Second Letter to Timothy 2:1-10.
Timothy, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus, and what you have heard from me before many witnesses entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others also. Share in suffering as a good soldier of Christ Jesus. No soldier on service gets entangled in civilian pursuits, since his aim is to satisfy the one who enlisted him. An athlete is not crowned unless he competes according to the rules. It is the hardworking farmer who ought to have the first share of the crops. Think over what I say, for the Lord will grant you understanding in everything.
Remember Jesus Christ, risen from the dead, descended from David, as preached in my gospel, the gospel for which I am suffering and wearing fetters like a criminal. But the word of God is not fettered. Therefore I endure everything for the sake of the elect, that they also may obtain salvation in Christ Jesus with its eternal glory.
Grave Mode.
Sunday of the Canaanite
The Reading is from Matthew 15:21-28
At that time, Jesus went to the district of Tyre and Sidon. And behold, a Canaanite woman from that region came out and cried, "Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David; my daughter is severely possessed by a demon." But he did not answer her a word. And his disciples came and begged him, saying, "Send her away, for she is crying after us." He answered, "I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel." But she came and knelt before him, saying, "Lord, help me." And he answered, "It is not fair to take the children's bread and throw it to the dogs." She said, "Yes, Lord, yet even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their master's table." Then Jesus answered her, "O woman, great is your faith! Be it done for you as you desire." And her daughter was healed instantly.

The memory of the just is praised, but thou art well pleased, O Forerunner, with the testimony of the Lord. For thou hast verily been shown forth as more honoured than the prophets, since thou wast counted worthy to baptize in the stream Him whom they foretold. Therefore, having mightily contended and suffered for the truth, with joy thou hast preached also to those in Hades, of God’s manifestation in the flesh, who takes away the sin of the world and grants unto us great mercy.

This Saint was a priest of the Christians in Magnesia, the foremost city of Thessaly, in the diocese having the same name. He contested during the reign of Alexander Severus (222-235), when Lucian was Proconsul of Magnesia. At the time of his martyrdom the Saint was 103 years of age.
St. Haralampus is commemorated on February 10th, with the exception when this date falls on the Saturday of the Souls preceding Lent or on Clean Monday (the first day of Lent), in which case the feast is celebrated on February 9th.
As for the renowned Empress Theodora, she was from Paphlagonia and was the daughter of a certain Marinus, the commander of a military regiment. While being the wife of the Emperor Theophilus, the last of the Iconoclasts, she adorned the royal diadem with her virtue and piety; as long as her husband Theophilus lived, she privately venerated icons, despite his displeasure. After his death, she restored the holy icons to public veneration; this is commemorated on the Sunday of Orthodoxy, the First Sunday of the Great Fast. She governed the Empire wisely for fifteen years, since her son Michael was not yet of age. But in 857 she forsook her royal power and entered a certain convent in Constantinople called Gastria, where she finished the course of her life in holiness and reposed in the Lord. Her sacred incorrupt remains are found in Corfu, in the Church of the Most Holy Theotokos of the Cave, in the capital city of the island (see also Dec. 12).
