Saints and Feasts

The Saints and Feasts section by default displays a fixed number of saints and feasts that are commemorated on the day of your Bulletin's publish date. You are given the option to add or remove to this list using the search feature at the bottom of the page. By default, you will see a list of the saints and feasts commemorated in the upcoming week, but you are also able to search by name or date. You are also able to add a custom entry if a saint does not exist in our database.

If you customize this section, but decide that you want to return to the default settings Bulletin Builder selected for your service, click the Restore Defaults button.

Note: Clicking this button will deleted any customizations you've made to the Saints and Feasts section. Any changes that you want to keep will need to be re-done after you've used the Restore Defaults button.

Adding a New Saint/Feast

You can add a new Hymn in one of two ways. First, you can search for a Saint/Feast in the Bulletin Builder database to add to your Bulletin. Alternatively, you can manually enter a Saint/Feast to include in your Bulletin.

Adding a Saint/Feast by Searching

  1. Scroll down to below the Saints/Feasts which are already in your Bulletin to see the Search for Saints and Feasts section.
  2. You can use the first field on the left to search for a Saint/Feast by its name. After you've typed the Saint/Feast you are looking for, click the Search button to see a list of all possible matched.
  3. Alternatively, you can find a feast based on a date. To do this, click into the Search by Date field to bring up a calendar picker. Once you've selected a date you will see all of the possible matches for your day.
  4. After searching for and finding your Saint/Feast, click the Add button on the right side of the Saint/Feast name (The button looks like a page with a plus sign).

Adding a Saint/Feast Manually

  1. Click the " New Saint or Feast " button in the menu bar at the top of the Saints and Feasts Page (Alternatively, you can click the " Create New Saint or Feast " button in the Search for Saints and Feasts section of the page). This will open the " Create a Saint or Feast Entry " popup.
  2. Click in the " Feast Date " field to bring up a calendar picker. Select the date of the Saint/Feast you will be including in your Bulletin.
  3. Type the description of your Saint/Feast into the " Description " field. This can include information such as the Life of your Saint or the History of a Feast.
  4. Enter the copyright information into the Copyright Holder field. While this field is not required, it is a good idea to get in the habit of entering this information to properly cite your sources.
  5. If you would like to include an Icon from your computer, click the Change Icon button on the bottom right side of the window. This will open a popup box that shows the files on your computer. Navigate to the Icon image on your computer and select it, then click Open.
  6. If you don't want to include an Icon for the Saint/Feast, uncheck the Show icon checkbox.
  7. Click the Save button to add the Saint/Feast to your Bulletin.

Re-ordering Saints and Feasts

To re-order a Saint/Feast, place you cursor over the word Move above the title of your selected Saint/Feast. Click the word Move and drag the Saint/Feast to your preferred location on the page. Once the Saint/Feast is where you would like it on the page, release the mouse button to save the Saint/Feast to its current position.

Deleting Saints and Feasts

To delete a Saint/Feast, click the Delete button at top right of your selected Saint/Feast. Click OK on the popup box to confirm that you want to delete the Saint/Feast.

Note: If you delete a Saint/Feast that you had customized, you will lose those customizations. If you choose to re-add the Saint/Feast to your bulletin, you will have to add the customizations back to the Saint/Feast. Make sure you really want to delete the Saint/Feast before using the Delete button.
