The memorials that were scheduled were both canceled earlier in the week. There was an effort to get a substitute Priest, as Fr. Anastasios is in self-quarantine, but six priests were asked and none were able.
For the Great Feast of the Entrance of the Theotokos (Saturday Nov. 21) and for Sunday's Liturgy we ask that you tune in to other Orthodox Livestreamed services, but if you are looking for the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Pittsburgh parishes, you can go to this link.
God-willing we will all be together again next Sunday.

THANKSGIVING BASKET SUCCESS & PACKING: We have exceeded our goal and are now able to provide 50 meals due to the hard work and generosity of our parishioners. We thank Sophia Chickos, Nicholas Marvin, and Harriet Sickles for their leadership. A group will be packing the meals tomorrow, Nov 21st, and God-willing, delivering them on the same day. Please contact the leaders for any information.
The Nativity Fast continues: This means we are less than 40 days away from the Nativity and our annual fasting season has begun. This fast is not as strict as Great Lent, but that does not mean it is not as important. The fast does intensify around the 12th of December.
GENERAL ASSEMBLY - November 29th immediately following the Divine Liturgy. God-willing we will be having our meeting in the Church, the sign in book for members in "Good Standing" will be available upon entry during Orthros & Divine Liturgy to reach our quorum of 35 members in good standing. The meeting will be a hybrid of in-person with a simultaneous Zoom call, which the link will be sent to members in good standing prior to the meeting via email.

Please note that only stewards who are members in good standing as defined by Article 18, Section 1, and Article 31, Section 3 of the Uniform Parish Regulations (2017) may vote in the General Assembly.
HOPE & JOY TOY DRIVE: We will continue to collect new toys to be given to those in need. A box is in the hallway off of the narthex for donations. Gift Cards can also be donated. We plan to donate these, as we do annually, to the Women's Shelter in Beaver. Toys/Gift Cards due by December 6th.
2021 Stewardship Drive: Join us as we make our plans for 2021 by submitting your 2021 Stewardship Card, which was on the back cover of the Voice Newsletter. Copies are available at Church as well. Stewardship is our greatest fundraiser and also lets us know that you stand with us. We thank you for your dedication over the years and especially during 2020 and look forward to many years of serving you and your family through your generous donations.
Philoptochos Vasilopita Fundraiser: Philoptochos will be selling $12 Vasilopita Bread homemade by Rosie's Gleeka for pickup on December 20th or 27th. See Paulette Wilson or Harriet Sickles for more details. The order form was in the Voice. The deadline to order is December 6th.
CHECK-IN VOLUNTEERS: In the current policies of the metropolis we are required to have a check-in person or team for every service. We are looking for additional volunteers who are willing to come a little early to check people in and, if able, to help sanitize after the services. Please contact Fr. Anastasios if you are interested in helping a necessary function during these times.
ANNUAL CHRISTMAS CARD: We are now accepting donations for the annual Christmas Card. Please contact Debbie for any questions once she is back in the office.

Verse: Bring to the Lord, O sons of God, bring to the Lord honor and glory.
The reading is from St. Paul's Letter to the Ephesians 2:14-22.
Brethren, Christ is our peace, who has made us both one, and has broken down the dividing wall of hostility, by abolishing in his flesh the law of commandments and ordinances, that he might create in himself one new man in place of the two, so making peace, and might reconcile us both to God in one body through the cross, thereby bringing the hostility to an end. And he came and preached peace to you who were far off and peace to those who were near; for through him we both have access in one Spirit to the Father. So then you are no longer strangers and sojourners, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone, in whom the whole structure is joined together and grows into a holy temple in the Lord; in whom you also are built into it for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.

The Lord said this parable: "The land of a rich man brought forth plentifully; and he thought to himself, 'What shall I do, for I have nowhere to store my crops?' And he said, 'I will do this: I will pull down my barns, and build larger ones; and there I will store all my grain and my goods. And I will say to my soul, 'Soul, you have ample goods laid up for many years; take your ease, eat, drink, be merry.' But God said to him, 'Fool! This night your soul is required of you; and the things you have prepared, whose will they be?' So is he who lays up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God." As he said these things, he cried out: "He who has ears to hear, let him hear."

Blessed are You, O Christ our God; Who has shone forth the fishermen to be all wise, by sending upon them the Holy Spirit and through them, You gathered the whole world in Your net, O lover of Mankind, glory to You.
Εύλογητός εἶ Χριστὲ ὁ Θεος ἡμῶν ὁ πανσόφους τοὺς ἁλιεῖς ἁναδείξας καταπέμψας αὐτοῖς τὸ Πνεῦμα τὸ ἅγιον καὶ δι᾽ αὐτῶν τῆν οἰκουμένην σαγηνεύσας φιλάνθρωπε δόξα Σοι.
According to the tradition of the Church, the Theotokos was brought to the Temple at three years of age, where she was consecrated to God and spent her days until she was fourteen or fifteen years old; and then, as a mature maiden, by the common counsel of the priests (since her parents had reposed some three years before), she was betrothed to Joseph.
We are pleased to announce that the Hon. Michael R. Pompeo, United States Secretary of State, will at his initiative visit the See of the Ecumenical Patriarchate this Tuesday, November 17, which is the source of joy and honor for the Mother Church of Constantinople.
March 2021 marks a milestone in the history of Greece and its Diaspora. Together, we will celebrate the 200th Anniversary of the beginning of the Greek Struggle for Independence.
