Having learned the joyful proclamation of the Resurrection from the Angel, and having cast off the ancestral condemnation, the women disciples of the Lord spake to the Apostles exultantly: Death is despoiled and Christ God is risen, granting great mercy to the world.

Sunday School Welcome Back Fair!!! Sunday, September 22nd Come and join us for the first day of Sunday School and Greek School.  You can register your child and have lots of fun.  We will have face painting, Cotton Candy, Ice cream Sundae, Cracker Jacks, popcorn, and lots of fun!!!!

Adult Study Opportunities:  Bible Study begins on Wednesday, September 18th at 10 am and 6:30 pm.  Frappe with Father Larry will be October 4th.  Holy Trinity's Men's Bible Study will have its’ first meeting Thursday, October 10th 6 pm at Charlies on Central.   

HOPE and JOY:. To all of our parents if kids in k-6 grades hope and joy begins in Sunday, September 29th!  We will begin after Sunday School with lunch.  If your child is in Greek School have them take their lunch to class and join the group after Greek School.

First Annual Metropolis to Detroit Hellenic Dance Festival: Holy Trinity is pleased to announce that we will be hosting the first metropolis of Detroit Hellenic Dance Festival! This is open to all of our dancers and will be held over the Columbus Day weekend which is October 11-13.  Please see Persilla or Maria with any questions.

Sunday Coffee Hours - There are many Sundays available and it is a great way for your family, or a few families together, to offer fellowship and refreshments to our community.  Open Sundays: November 10th & 24th In the event that no one signs up for a Sunday to host a coffee hour, only coffee will be available at the Community Center.  So come one, come all and sign up today to host a "Holy Trinity Coffee Hour Please call the Church office today and offer to sign up for a Sunday to host a coffee hour!

ALTAR FLOWERS ARE NEEDED FOR October 13th.    The cost is $50 for 2 beautiful vases.  It’s a great way to show your support in honor or memory of someone and beautify our altar too!  Call the Church office if you’re interested.

The Reading is from Mark 16:1-8

When the Sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, bought spices, so that they might go and anoint Jesus. And very early on the first day of the week they went to the tomb when the sun had risen. And they were saying to one another, "Who will roll away the stone for us from the door of the tomb?" And looking up, they saw that the stone was rolled back, for it was very large. And entering the tomb, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, dressed in a white robe; and they were amazed. And he said to them, "Do not be amazed; you seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has risen, he is not here; see the place where they laid him. But go, tell his disciples and Peter that he is going before you to Galilee; there you will see him, as he told you." And they went out and fled from the tomb; for trembling and astonishment had come upon them; and they said nothing to any one, for they were afraid.

Brethren, knowing that a man is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ, and not by works of the law, because by works of the law shall no one be justified. But if, in our endeavor to be justified in Christ, we ourselves were found to be sinners, is Christ then an agent of sin? Certainly not! But if I build up again those things which I tore down, then I prove myself a transgressor. For I through the law died to the law, that I might live to God. I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me; and the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Archiepiscopal Encyclical for the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross

As we commemorate this most blessed Feast of the Exaltation of the Precious and Life-Giving Cross, we sing as an exclamation of faith and a witness of the Gospel to all the world, “The Cross is raised on high, and urges all the creation to sing the praises of the undefiled Passion of Him who was lifted high upon it.” (Hymn of Vespers) Today, as Orthodox Christians we raise high the Cross as an emblem of victory and an invincible shield. We raise high the Cross of Christ our Lord, proclaiming the salvation that has come through Him. We raise high the Cross, affirming that God’s love for us is greater than the power of death. And in raising high the Cross, we raise up Christ so that all the world may see our Resurrected Lord and believe.

GOA Center for Family Care Host Clergy Peer Learning Group Training Event

SOMERSET, NJ – Sixteen clergy from various places throughout the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America completed training on September 10-12, 2019 for expanding the ministry to support our clergy. The Archdiocesan Center for Family Care recently received a generous grant from Leadership 100 to train facilitators to lead clergy peer learning groups throughout the country.
