GYRO SALE VOLUNTEERS NEEDED - We plan to serve up 600 Gyro Dinners on October 17 and we need your help - setting up tents and cooking equipment, prepping vegetables and salads as well as volunteers on sale day. HOT DIGGETY DOG! Fundraiser on October 25th following liturgy. The ladies of Philoptochos are raising money to fight Breast Cancer. All profits will go to the Karmanos Cancer Center. The ladies will have a brief meeting after liturgy on Sunday, October 11.
"THE THREE HIERARCHS" GREEK SCHOOL RESUMES CLASSES ONLINE
Greek Language classes this year will be delivered online for 1.5 hour a week at least until the end of December. Children’s classes will be Tuesday and Thursday evenings and adult classes on Wednesday evening. You may contact Anna Liakou-Hentnik for more specific information at nativity_greek_school@yahoo.com. ALTAR BOYS ALLOWED! According to new directives from the Metropolis of Detroit, Altar Boys are now allowed to return to the Altar to serve. Masks are required, social distance must be maintained, and the number of servers is limited to 8 - 10. Please arrive no later than 9:45 am if you plan to serve. Altar Boys arriving after we reach capacity will be asked to sit in the pews and attend church with their family. Contact Bill Smith if you have any questions.
VIRTUAL SCRIPTURE COURSE OFFERED FOR HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS AND COLLEGE FRESHMEN The CrossRoad office is offering a nine-week course taught by Dr. Michael Legaspi, an Orthodox Scripture scholar to help young adults learn to read and understand the scripture through our Orthodox lens and modern society. Click here for more details and to register—it's going to be an amazing opportunity to have access to a phenomenal professor and scholar, meet Orthodox peers, and explore some challenging topics! Classes will be held on Thursdays from 6–7 PM Eastern beginning 10/15 and running through 12/17 (no class on Thanksgiving) cost is $75 (scholarships available for those in need of financial assistance)
NATIVITY HALLOWEEN BASH 1-4 PM ON OCTOBER 24 Bring your lawn chairs and picnic lunch and join in on some fall family fun - Costume contest and safe candy distribution! Social distancing and masks are required! See the attached flyer for more details.
