Sunday Coffee Fellowship Hour
We invite all to our Coffee Fellowship Hour following Divine Liturgy this morning. If you would like to sponsor our weekly fellowship hour (in memory of a loved one, or other special occasion) please contact the Parish Office during the week.
This week we express our thanks to the families of Gus Iatrides and of Bea Paravantes for sponsoring our Fellowship hour in their memory. May their memory be eternal!
National Church Music Sunday
This annual celebration occurs the first Sunday after the observance of the feast day of St. Romanos the Melodist, the Patron Saint of the National Forum and church musicians, which falls on October 1st. The Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America sets this day aside each year to recognize and honor all of its church musicians: choirs, chanters, organists, hymnographers. We will be expressing our gratitude for our "ministers of music" following the services this morning.
DURING THE WEEK
We fast this week on Wednesday and Friday as usual.

Donating in Time of Need:
Your charity is always appreciated. We are always accepting non-perishable foods to assist those in need, and items may be dropped off in the Narthex (foyer) at services on Sunday and Feastdays. Likewise, as weather turns colder, our Philoptochos Ladies are seeking donations of Coffee to assist the City Rescue Mission of Hammond, a local homeless shelter. Again, donations can be left in the Narthex or at the Parish Office during the week.
Parish Council Nominations Open
This Sunday we continue accepting nominations for our 2023 Parish Council Elections to be held on Sunday, November 20. Nomination forms (listing requirements) are available in the Narthex and in the North entryway by the bookstore office. We hope you will consider this important service to your parish home. Nominations will close at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 30.
Stewardship Pledge Commitment:
Have you fulfilled your 2022 Stewardship Pledge? Many have, but some have not yet completed their commitment. Your support of our ministries is vital. If you have questions about your pledge status, or to make a 2022 pledge, please contact the Parish Office. An updated statement for the year was sent to all parishioner homes this past week as a reminder.
50th Wedding Anniversarty/85th Birthday
Due to the Pandemic, we stopped our long practice of honoring couples on the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary or persons on their 85th birthday. If you know of a couple or person that has not been rightly honored, please inform us through the Parish Office or contact Father David directly.
Although we honor couples and persons once (and it may occur "after the fact" if not done at the time), we do make an exception for those reaching their 100th year as well.
Parish Email List:
If you have not been receiving our emails, please forward your email address to our Parish Office. The Sunday Parish Bulletin with all updates and activities will be sent to each email on our list on the evening of the Friday before. Submissions or requests for Parish-wide emails should be directed to Father David.
