GREAT OPPORTUNITIES
As you read through this week’s e-bulletin, you will notice quite a few upcoming events of importance. Please take note and participate in those that might apply to you.
One of them, is relevant to all of us and that is the Archpastoral Visit of His Eminence Metropolitan Evangelos. His Eminence will be visiting St. Demetrios for the first time in twelve years when he first came to meet with a group of over 200 people who warmly welcomed him and indicated their support for building a church and establishing the parish. Here we are and he will be coming to see our progress and offer guidance on the way ahead. Please come to the services, Great Vespers on Saturday March 2nd, and Divine Liturgy on Sunday, March 3rd, to show him due respect as he leads us in worship and the Divine Liturgy.
Another upcoming event you will notice is about the OCF/Young Adult Retreat February 8th – 9th, just around the corner. Our retreat leader will be Fr. Barnabas Powell, a prolific writer and well-respected priest of our Archdiocese. He is a convert from a Pentecostal background, has a weekly Podcast on Ancient Faith Radio, and has an unique charisma not typical of a Greek Orthodox priest. The Paraklesis service is open to ALL parishioners and young adults of ALL ages.
Speaking of retreats, also below you will see information on a Women’s Retreat to be held in Virginia Beach. Last year it was very successful, and promises to be so again this year. All the necessary information is enclosed in our e-bulletin below.
Thank you for your attention to these events and I do hope and pray that you will “break your routine” and participate in these wonderful, spiritually uplifting offerings.
