A General Assembly of the Parish was scheduled for November 8th following the Divine Liturgy. Please plan to attend as there will be some important issues needing approval, to include the following:
-
At the Archdiocese Clergy Laity Congress, it was resolved to amend the Uniform Parish Regulations as follows:
An ADDENDUM D is added to the Regulations, which reads as follows:
“Due to the limitations resulting from the Covid-19 virus, which may impede full compliance with Article 25 of these Regulations, 2020 elections for Parish Council memberships may be postponed for twelve months at the discretion of any Metropolitan for any parish within his jurisdiction. In 2021 elections, parishioners elected to positions so affected shall be entitled to a two year term of service.”
As per the resolution, the Parish Council voted to forego elections to the Parish Council for one year due to the Coronavirus, which will extend the term of the current members of the Parish Council by one year. This decision will need to be approved by His Eminence Metropolitan Evangelos.
-
The parish council voted to present to the General Assembly a By Laws amendment to extend the maximum number of consecutive terms on the Parish Council from two to three.
Financial Summary:
Stewardship collected as 8/31/20 is $46,000. At the same time last year our stewardship collections were $74,000.
This is a decrease of $28,000.
As a result our loss after expenses of $109,000 is $(49,000).
Largest expenses are Interest $38m, salaries $23m, utilities $15m, and plumbing $11m.
You don't have to be in church to give.
Please reach out to a Parish council member and we can let you know about ways to contribute.
