NEXT SUNDAY IS OXI DAY Those who can sing the Greek National Anthem are encouraged to gather and do so next Sunday at the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy. We have a precious Orthodox Christian heritage that is linked to the Greek culture. Next Sunday is also is Feast Day of the Holy Protection of the Mother of God, our Lady Theotokos. GREEK DANCE SILENT AUCTION Everyone is asked to participate in obtaining donations for this year’s Silent Auction at or annual Greek Dance, November 3. For all you last minute shoppers, we ask that you turn in your donations for the auction by today, Sunday, 21 October.
Some very nice items have already come in for the Silent Auction—thank you very much!
What can you provide for the Silent Auction? Ideas: Gift cards from shops/restaurants/gas stations or cards for personal services work well (i.e., salons or massage). Cards covering basic car maintenance, auto detailing, or dry cleaning would be good. How about a weekend accommodation at a lake cottage? Or tickets to a production at Collins Center for the Arts or an upcoming sports event? If you are a crafter or artist and you create beautiful items that sell for good prices, please consider donating a piece of your work. If you have items at home that have gone unused or have had very light use and would be desirable for the auction, please consider donating them. Perhaps someone can wrangle a specialty item such as a kayak which has high end appeal to many people. Really, the sky’s the limit—please help us reach and get some top shelf items for this event! People love silent auctions especially if the items are desirable. Be sure to check out and participate in the Silent Auction items during the Greek Dance.
