Our local church, St. George, is not a charity,
but an extension of our homes
that we all share together.
XRONIA POLLA to Eugenia Walter & Eugenia Kolkas who will be celebrating their Name Days tomorrow, Monday, December 24. Many Years to you both!
GROWING SAINTS SUNDAY SCHOOL meets today. This class is suitable for children ages 7-14, parents are welcome to attend the class with their child whenever they’d like. Let us all learn together and glorify God! Today we’ll see the birth of St. John the Forerunner and the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ as the wonderful events they are. See you then!
CHRISTMAS SERVICES Tomorrow, Monday, December 24, we will celebrate a (candlelight) vesperal Divine Liturgy for Christ’s Holy Nativity beginning at 5:30PM. After the Vespers service, Jeremiah will bless us with some violin music and then those who’d like can join in Christmas caroling. On Tuesday, Christmas Day, the Orthros of Christmas will begin at 9AM, followed by the Divine Liturgy at 10. CHRIST IS BORN! GLORIFY HIM!
PARISH DECORATORS Big thanks to all those who worked so hard to make the church beautiful for these sacred days—Eleni, Marina, Olga & Pat. Thank you, too, to the individual donations of poinsettias including the four large plants donated by Sprague’s.
ALMSGIVING IN THE SPIRIT OF ST. NICHOLAS Our friends from Saving Grace Thrift Shop on Union Street thank everyone here at St. George who gave money and resources to benefit the low income and homeless persons that come to the shop routinely. They maintain a food pantry and often during the year offer assistance, in Christ’s Name, to those in need. If you brought additional items today, Presbytera will deliver them all to the thrift shop later this week. The needs never go away and blessed be all who help lift the burden in our immediate area.
MOVING ALONG SOON Jeremiah & Esther will be moving to Newfoundland after January1 and we will be very sorry to see them go. The move is tied to Jeremiah’s continuing studies. God bless them—they will be greatly missed!
PARISH COUNCIL ELECTION RESULTS Election is over and all those who ran won by a landslide! Congrats to all members, may God grant you strength and wisdom as you continue to guide our St. George parish on a path to give God glory.
NEXT GENERAL ASSEMBLY will be the second Sunday of January. Please plan to attend.
