DR. DAVE IS BACK AT HOME after recent gall-bladder removal surgery. The surgery was a success; his body just needs a bit of time to snap back. You can send him a note of cheer: David Walter, 493 Church Road, Bangor, ME 04401.
GRATEFUL TO GOD Bert and Patty send their love and thanks to our St. George family for remembering their daughter, Aimee, in prayer over recent weeks. The doctors did a comparison between scans taken this week and three weeks ago. The tumors her body is contending with have reduced in size which is very good. There is a small affect in the brain that all are praying will be resolved between now and her next evaluation. She finished her third round of chemotherapy. She has one more round scheduled in November and there will also be some immune boosting therapy offered. Bert and Patty say the family is truly grateful for all the prayers offered which they are certain are helping Aimee and the whole family--so please keep praying for Aimee's recovery and the grace of God that is being sent their way in consolation. They are confident in the physicians and the care Aimee is receiving which is a special blessing at this time.

GREEK DANCE FOOD - VERY IMPORTANT We're asking you all to contact Cynthia Karris to let her know what kind of dish or dishes you are willing to provide for the Greek dance buffet tables. We are expecting 200 attendees. Prepared dishes are best, everyone loves eating delicious, homemade food. However, we know not everyone is able to cook, so we are also looking for donations to cover the cost of purchasing some food items. If you can do both things--cook something AND donate toward food purchases to take up the slack, that would be wonderful! If you can do only one or the other, that is OK, too. We do ask that you participate, however, as this is a parish fund-raising event. The dishes do not need to be ethnic Greek cuisine, whatever you are willing to prepare will be just fine. Simply let your food be delicious, that is all. What can you offer? Please call or text Cynthia (Lambros' wife) at 207 356 9194 and let her know what dish or dishes you will contribute for the Greek Dance meal THIS SATURDAY. If you are not sure what to bring, Cynthia can make suggestions. If you cannot attend in person, frozen dishes that can be heated & served or thawed and served are most welcome. Appetizers, entrees, side dishes and desserts will all be needed. Again, the date is this Saturday, November 5 and this is a fund-raising event for St. George. Thank you!
GREEK COOKIE BAKERS Two delicious cookie recipes can be made ahead and stored in order to serve on the evening of the Greek dance. Is anyone up for making cookies? We'll take as many as we can get! Here are two recipes we suggest: melomakarona: https://www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/melomakarona/.
Also, koulourakia https://mysweetgreek.com/recipes/koulourakia-greek-butter-cookies/. Please contact Cynthia (207 356 9194) and let her know if you would provide a batch or two of these cookies for the dessert table.
