Special Parish Assembly Meeting on Sunday, December 16, 2018:
Will take place immediately following the Divine Liturgy with the sole purpose of accepting parish council candidate nominations, which will close at the conclusion of the meeting. New Parish Council Elections will then be held on Sunday, December 23, 2018 following the Divine Liturgy and concluding at 1pm. Please make sure you are current in your Stewardship and Faith obligations, and plan on participating.
New Year’s Eve Grand 50/50 Raffle:
Ring in the New Year with fabulous food and entertainment and a chance to win CASH!!! Please support our efforts and join us at our annual New Year’s Eve party where the Grand 50/50 drawing will take place on January 1, 2019 at 12:15am. One winner will win half of the cumulative cash jackpot! Tickets are $100 each and only 500 will be sold! Tickets available at the church office and during coffee hour. REMEMBER, the more tickets purchased, the bigger the cash prize which could potentially be: $25,000 IF ALL TICKETS ARE SOLD!!! Winner need not be present.
New Year’s Eve Party:
Come ring in 2019 at St. George! The Parish Council and GOYA are co-hosting a lavish, family New Year’s Eve party including music and dancing by DJ Taso, appetizers, dinner, dessert, BYOB and a Grand 50/50 raffle! Tickets in advance: $65 for adults and $35 for youth (18 and under). Door prices: $75 for adults and $45 for youth. The St. George GOYA will be hosting a HOLIDAY BOUTIQUE in the lower hall TODAY during coffee hour. Quality toys, games and gifts for the holidays below wholesale prices! Prices ranging from $1 - $10. Please visit the boutique to support the GOYA while saving on your holiday shopping!
St. Paraskevi Philoptochos Sandwich Sunday:
Made their sandwiches last Sunday and the next Sandwich Sunday will be on January 20, 2019. This month's sandwiches were made possible by generous donations from: Daughters of Penelope in memory of Irene Houlis, Suzanne Bauer in memory of Danny Bauer, Melissa Brause in memory of Presvytera Margaret Orfanakos, Kathy Donahue in memory of her loved ones and Presvytera Gigi for her loved ones. Sandwiches are currently delivered to either the Hoboken Shelter or St. Paul's Men's Shelter. Feeding the hungry is an important tenet of our mission to help the needy.
GOYA Awards Presentations:
Congratulatins to Alex Argiris and Matthew Delaney, the NNJ GOYC 2018 Scholarship recipients from our St. George Community. We wish them success and happiness in their college years. Congratulations to our senior and junior girls volleyball teams for winning 2nd Place in the District I Volleyball tournament this past Sunday. In addition, we would like to express our deepest gratitude, appreciation, and thank you to the coaches, Kalliope Vergis, Stamatina Sakellaris, Andy Dakos, Jim Katsios & Spiro Katechis, for all their hard work, dedication, and commitment to our volleyball and basketball program.
