Sunday Church School:
Sunday School classes began on September 25th. We have classes for children ages 3 to 18! Classes begin right after Holy Communion and run until 11:45. Students are welcomed to join us at any point during the school year. A family registration fee of $40 is collected annually. If you haven't done so already, we invite you to stop down to register your children. Also, we remind you to mark your calendar for Sunday, October 23rd. We will take Sunday School class photos that day, so please make sure your children are here. We have quite a collection of photos in our classroom hallway and we want your children to be in this year's photos! Questions? Email us at churchschool@stgeorgeclifton.org.
St. George Greek School News:
Pending interest, we intend to hold a Greek School class for 3-year-olds and a Regents/Ellinomatheia Conversation Class (which can earn High School and College language credits) for anyone 12 years old and older. In addition, we would like to establish a Greek Adult Conversation/Culture Course. Anyone interested, please send an email to greekschool@stgeorgeclifton.org or contact the Church Office at 973-779-2626 as soon as possible so plans can be made accordingly. Don't miss the opportunity to either enhance your knowledge or learn more about this rich and beautiful language and culture! “If the violin is the most perfect musical instrument, the Greek language is the violin of the human thought.” Helen Keller

St. Paraskevi Philoptochos News:
Thank you to those of you who supported our St. Paraskevi Pacers this past weekend in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk in Jersey City. With your participation we were able to exceed our $2,000 goal.
Next, our Philoptochos is reminding everyone of our December 9th comedy night with Gus Constantellis. Please join us for a fun night full of laughter.
Finally, we will be making sandwiches on Sunday, October 23rd to give to the Paterson Men's Shelter. Anyone who is interested in helping us, please come to the kitchen upstairs after the Divine Liturgy.
Feast Day Flower and Icon Donations:
During the Ecclesiastical year, our Church comes alive with many Liturgical services. It is customary in our faith to decorate icons used during special Feast Day services with flowers. We encourage our parishioners to offer this special $150 donation as a way to remember departed friends and relatives, as well as an expression of love for their family and loved ones. Donations are now being accepted for the following Feast Day celebrations:
- November 9 – St. Nectarios the Wonderworker (various flower decorations) ….$500
- Partial donations contributed by:
Eleni Lambrinides
John & Kiki Koleros in memory of their fathers
Sponsor A Day Program:
One way to help the church is through our “Sponsor a Day” program. We encourage our parishioners to select a day that has special meaning to them like a birthday, feast day, anniversary or a memorial and make a suggested $250 donation. For more information about the program, speak to one of our Parish Council members, Ministry Leaders or call the church.
Please consider sponsoring these feast days:
- October 18th – St. Luke the Evangelist
- October 23rd – St. Iakovos the Brother of the Lord
- October 26th – St. Demetrios the Myrrhbearer
- October 28th – OXI Day Celebration
