WE WELCOME EVERYONE TO OUR CHURCH COMMUNITY!
We are grateful that you have joined us for prayer and worship. Please join us after the Divine Services in our Fr. John & Presvytera Margaret Orfanakos Fellowship Hall for our Hospitality Hour.
FOLLOW THE LIGHT:
Welcome to our Parish of Saint George. We are honored that you have chosen to worship with us this morning. Please pay attention to the tiny electric votive light directly above the Holy Gates. It is located right above the icon of the Last Supper. When the light in on – please stand. When the light is off – you may sit.
Special Prayers During Church Services:
Requests for Memorial Services, Artoclasias, 40-day baby blessings, Fanouropites, etc. are welcomed. We ask that you please let the office know ahead of time so that we can include your special service in the Sunday bulletin.
Our Holy Week Journey:
Each day during Holy Week we invite you to join us for services. Please see enclosed schedule. We encourage you to participate actively. Whether singing with the Choir or the Chanters, reading, serving in the altar, helping decorate the Church – offer yourselves in service to the Church. Myrofores (flower girls) are also needed for the afternoon and evening services on Good Friday. For more information or to register, please email Patti Manis at pattimanis@gmail.com or Tina Anastos at tinaanastos@gmail.com. Don’t forget to bring bells from home to help us celebrate the First Resurrection on Holy Saturday morning. Every day is special during Holy Week and we want you to be apart of it. To find the prayers for each service and to follow along, visit the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America’s Digital Chant Stand at https://digitalchantstand.goarch.org.

All are invited to participate in this simple but meaningful project.
Agape Vespers Readers Needed:
We are looking for volunteers to read the Resurrectional Gospel reading during the Agape Vespers service on Great & Holy Pascha on Sunday, April 16th. If you can read another language and are able to attend the service, please contact Fr. Peter or the Church Office. During the Agape Vespers it is the tradition of the Church to read the Gospel reading (John 20:19-25) in multiple languages. This is a great way to reinforce the message of the Great Commission of Christ to our own community today.

Please email greekschool@stgeorgeclifton.org or call the church office for any further questions or concerns regarding orders or sales. All proceeds will benefit our St. George Greek School. Kali Sarakosti! Good Lent!
Pre-Festival Planning Party:
Please join us on Saturday, April 29th at 7pm for a Pre-Festival Planning Party to be held on site at St. George. We will have sign-ups for various work stations during the Greek Festival (May 5, 6 and 7) and provide training for food preparation and our new automated check-out system. Gyro will be served free of charge to everyone who attends. Please feel free to bring your favorite appetizer and drink of choice. Don’t forget your dancing shoes as we will also have Greek music too! It is going to be a fun night and we hope you will join us. As we all know, the Greek Festival is our major annual fundraising event and we ask for help from all our parishioners. A great deal of hard work and dedication is put into preparing the many Greek foods made right here in our church by our committed parishioners. We ask you to please support our Parish by donating your time and talents to this important fundraiser.
Stewardship:
Whether you are new to our parish or have been a steward for many years, welcome to St. George Greek Orthodox Church of Clifton, New Jersey! We invite you and your family to participate in our spiritual, outreach, social and youth ministries. The Church is here for you and your family to proclaim the Orthodox Faith and make our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and His Church the center of your family’s life! We invite all those who have offered an annual gift in the past to try and maintain or even increase their contribution this year. For those that have never given an annual gift, we need your help. You can make a difference today with your participation. We understand that philanthropy is something very personal. Each person is invited to give according to their ability. If you are able, please consider joining one of the following giving levels this year: ($5,000 or more – Grand Benefactors, $2500-$4,999 – Benefactors, $1,000-$2,499 – House of Stewards, $800-$999- Patrons). Of course, whatever you decide to give please know that you have our utmost gratitude and appreciation, and please know our Church is here to serve your each and every need. The important thing to keep in mind is that we need everyone to do something. Sincere thanks to those who have already made their Stewardship Commitment for 2023!

Sponsor A Day Program:
