Intro to Orthodox Christianity Course Begins this Week

Our MEOCCA sponsored, 12-week, Fall 2021 cooperative catechism course, Intro to Orthodox Christianity will begin on Tuesday, September 14, from 7-9 pm. The class is open to all; people interested in learning more about Orthodox Christianity, inquirers, catechumens, and current Orthodox Christians as well! The course is an excellent opportunity to deepen the knowledge of the Orthodox Christian Faith. Classes will be held on Tuesday evenings in-person and via Zoom. FOCUS MN 2021 Fundraiser September 30

This in-person event will be held Thursday, September 30, 2021, 6-9 pm at St. Mary’s GOC in Minneapolis. All are invited to celebrate FOCUS’s work and reflect on the blessings of the past year. Small plates and refreshments; free-will offering – all are welcome!

2021 Family Camp Registration: October 8-10 is LIVE!

Thinking of Family Camp this year? We hope so! Registration is now open! Here are a few important facts to consider as you make your decision: 

• Bishop Anthony is our speaker this year. A fun dynamic presenter, he will be speaking on the topic, "And He Shall Come Again". With all the crazy things going on in our world, it is a wonderful opportunity to think about the good news of Christ's second coming. We will have age-appropriate discussions for your kids, ages 4+, too! As a reminder, we do not have programming for little ones 3 and under.
• We are thinking about your safety! We have made the decision to have a smaller Family Camp where we can spread out a bit more. True Friends (Camp Courage) has provided their Fall Safety Plan and can be viewed here. Some of our meals may be outside under tents if weather permits. We will of course, ask anyone who is not feeling well to stay home. If this happens, please contact camp@stmaryscamp.com ASAP. Doria or Jon will follow up with you.
• Registration information can be found at www.stmaryscamp.com, select Family Camp. It will close on September 28 at 4:30 PM.  Because space is limited due to a smaller camp, register early! As in the past, we will only be accepting credit card payments. Refunds will be allowed through September 28 at 4:30 PM, less the 3.5% processing fee.

Welcome Visitors!

Thank you for joining us in worship. Whether you are an Orthodox Christian or this is your first visit to an Orthodox Church, we are pleased to have you with us. Although Holy Communion is offered only to baptized and chrismated Orthodox Christians, all are invited to receive the Antidoron (blessed bread) at the end of the service. The Antidoron is reminiscent of the agape feast that followed worship in the early Church. One does not have to be of Greek descent, nor speak Greek, to be an Orthodox Christian and member of our parish. All people, of any background, are welcome to join the Orthodox Church. For those interested in learning more about the Christian Faith or becoming a member of our church, please contact Fr. Perry after services or at frperry@stgeorgegoc.org or (651) 222-6220.
