Basic Spiritual Life Class
For the next few weeks, Fr. Basil will be leading us through the basics of our Orthodox spiritual life. The only required textbook is your prayer book. The study begins at 6:30pm on Wednesday evenings. Please join us!
Upcoming Lecture at Baylor
Father Justin, hieromonk and head librarian of St. Catherine’s Monastery in Sinai, Egypt, will give a public lecture titled "The Theology of Mirrors in Saint Paul’s Epistles to the Corinthians and Later Greek Writers.” The talk will be given on Friday, 16 November at 3:00 p.m. in the Armstrong Browning Library’s Treasure Room, on the Baylor Campus. Father Justin will also be at Baylor to describe plans for imaging the Syriac and Arabic manuscripts in St. Catherine’s monastery. For more information about Father Justin’s lecture, please see Dan Nodes.
Council Elections
If you are interested in running for the Parish Council, elections will be held on Sunday, December 2nd. Please notify Johnny Giotes of your intention. The Parish Council is a ministry and provides a tangible way to serve God and our church community.
Holy Week Manual
In an effort to help us be more organized in the future when making plans for Holy Week and Pascha, we would like eto make a manual to guide whomever comes behind us in those preparations. If you have anything that you usually take care of for Holy Week, be it a large or small thing, please let Robyn know by writing out what it is you do and how you accomplish that task. We need your wisdom!
Agape Meal
We will have our monthly potluck the first Sunday of each month following Divine Liturgy. Don't feel like cooking? Store-bought is great, too, just please bring a dish to share with the Parish.
Prayer Requests
"We should pray for our neighbors not because God does not know how to save them, but because He wants us to participate in one another’s salvation." - Metropolitan Hilarion
Please remember these in your daily prayers:
- The Parish Council
- The provision of a full-time priest
- Father Ted, Presvytera Kathy and Paul
- Father Basil, Presvytera Dea and family
- Alexandra Howard and Jennifer Jackson (pregnancy)
- St. Andrew Parish
- Jack McAfee as he teaches in Thailand
- Brandi Loy - Robyn's cousin battling gallbladder cancer
If you have names you would like added, or if situations needing special prayer have been resolved, please let Robyn know. This will keep our list up to date and accurate.
Submissions and E-mail Updates
If you have announcements, new, items of interest, or prayer requests for the weekly bulletin or if you need to update or add an e-mail address to our circulation list, please let Robyn Panayoton know by 5:00pm on Wednesday of each week.

Cleaning-Prosforo-Refreshments
Please sign up for the above duties on the wall calendar by the office door in the Parish Hall. The church needs all of you. Thank you for your faithfulness. Please keep it up. God will bless you.
Sacrament of Holy Communion (Non-Orthodox Visitors)
It is with the deepest regret that we ask you to abstain from receiving Holy Communion. This is a sacrament reserved only for those who are baptized, chrismated and prepared Orthodox Christians. It pains us to turn away a Christian who loves and worships the Lord Jesus, but because of the separation of the Christian churches and the different understanding we have about the Sacrament of Holy Communion, we ask you to abstain. Do come and receive the blessed bread at the conclusion of the service.
Visitors
We are happy to have you worshiping with us today. Please stay with us after the Divine Liturgy so that we may meet you.
