Divine Liturgy 10:00am for the foreseeable future, with a Senior Liturgy Once a month (Seniors only, Oct. 26th at 10:00 am)
No Coffee Hour
Feast Days in October: Oct. 26th, St. Demetrios at 9:30 am.

A Seniors only Liturgy will be held Monday October 26 for the feast of St. Demetrios at 9:30 am.
St. Philothea Re-opened on Pentecost. We will be celebrating the Divine Liturgy every Wednesday and Sunday to give more people an opportunity to attend.
We need 3 volunteers each Liturgy to take temperatures, light candles, usher and help set up and clean up. To attend the liturgy in person please sign up online. New sign-ups will be required each month. The September sign up sheet is available online HERE Also all attendees should familiarize themselves with the special requirements for safe worship in the Church HERE.
You may sit in the chapel or in Marswood Hall. You do not bring your own chairs as previously requested, since the hall is a sanitized environment and anything coming in has to be sanitized. We will use the vinyl chairs and wipe them down afterwards.

OCF News

“Chew and Chat” is scheduled for:
Tuesday, October 6th and Oct. 20th, Nov. 3rd and Nov. 20th Location TBD
(first and third Tuesdays of every month from 6:30-8:30pm)
OCF DINNERS If you would like to host an OCF dinner this Semester we will be meeting outdoors or in the Social Hall the first and third Tuesday’s of the month. You can either cook and deliver a meal or give $85 for takeout. We have a good group returning this year and adding new faces, and we thank you for your support. Sign-up online HERE.
There will also be a national OCF Hybrid retreat Nov. 6-8 with in person meeting at St. Philothea (bring your own lunch) Nov. 7 from 1-6 pm. Work Daze is canceled in the fall but will hopefully resume in the spring.
We thank all those who have generously contributed to this vital ministry throughout the year and especially Mike and Kate McClain for their untiring service to the students.
Beginning Oct. 8th Fr. Anthony will resume icon painting on Campus Weekly Thurs. at Tate Center Plaza 11-3 p.m.

If you have a great read to share, please contact Steve or Fr. Anthony.
Offering books, CD’s, prayer ropes, gift items, Orthodox Study Bibles and more. Stop by and shop every Sunday after church.
The bookstore also features services books and inspirational readings for Lent. Stephen will also be taking orders for “The Holy Week Book” which follows the entire cycle of services from the 1st Bridegroom Service through Agape Vespers on Pascha. This makes a wonderful gift for someone in your family—every family should have a copy. Contact Stephen before April 1st to place your order. There are also available the full Orthodox Study Bible Old and New Testament for $35. Also, the Journey of Marriage guide is also available; useful for married couples as well as those contemplating marriage.
Golf Tournament

The annual Golf Tournament helps raise funds to support the mission and ministry of St. Philothea and Bread for Life.
The Annual St. Philothea Golf Classic on Oct. 12 will be our only fundraiser this fall so we want to give it our best effort. Raffle tickets for a Calloway Mavrik Driver are $20 each 3 for $50. See Fr. Anthony if you would like to sell some. Also we will need volunteers day of to help with the tournament, registration, hole watchers, etc.
Please spread the word, ask local businesses for donations for door prizes, and get golfers, you can win tickets to the Classic Center Broadway Shows or Hockey Sky box. It is a fun event and a great cause. More information and registration here.

Please consider lending a hand, a little or a lot, for providing dinners to the homeless.
Going forward, St Philothea will host on the 4th Monday of every month! We will need to provide a protein, a starch, a vegetable and a dessert. Sign up here. We will need to donate food, prepare it, and drop off the dinner. Please contact Kate and Mike McClain if you would like to join the team. You do not have to commit to every month but together we can do this.

FACEBOOK MARKETPLACE - online garage sale. Thanks to Kosta and several parishioners we have already made over $600! Clean out your home and help raise funds for the Parish. If you have an item of value (~$50 or greater) that you would like to contribute so that it can be sold to raise funds for the Church please contact Kosta Vavlas (DimitriosVavlas@gmail.com, 727-424-2194) or to arrange for pick up. Clean, saleable items in good condition only, please.
Nurses Clinic Toiletry Collection
The Nurse’s Clinic provides low-cost medical care for under-insured or uninsured patients with chronic illnesses. Philoptochos is collecting items for the Nurse’s Clinic in Athens.
Items can be given to Karen Kimbaris or left in Fr. Anthony’s office. Please contact Karen if you have any questions about this donation at kakimbaris@yahoo.com.

Meal Volunteers

MEALS FOR THOSE IN NEED. Please sign up HERE to assist the parish in serving one another. Once you sign up, your name will be on a list of those available to prepare meals when a parishioner or another has a need due to health concerns, medical recovery or other. You will be called when your help is needed on a rotating basis, so it may only be once or twice a year depending on how many people sign up. We are also collecting names of those who are able to deliver meals.
Bread Ministry
Kurt needs help picking up bread from Publix and delivering it to the Salvation Army every Sunday.
