Angel Tree
12/05/2021
Angel Tree 2021 Christmas festival Breaking news! We have just received our list of 76 children! Your opportunity to choose a child and purchase a gift will be coming soon. In the meantime, festival planning is underway. We will be throwing our Angel Tree party for children of incarcerated parents as an outdoor festival again this year. This worked very well last year. Assuming the weather cooperates, we are excited about this year. We ask for volunteers to lavishly decorate the trunk of their car and sponsor one activity there, like hot chocolate or cookie decorating or a craft. Everyone is encouraged to brainstorm a potential activity and be creative! We ask only that the activity be generally connected to keeping Christ in Christmas, rather than reindeer or snowmen or the like. Thus a craft could be Christian-themed artwork or a tree decoration. We ask volunteers to supply the materials for their car/activity.
One change will be to encourage more interaction by setting up tables near our decorated vehicles so that the children can stop and decorate their cookies at the festival, make their crafts onsite, etc. Should we also set up tables for folks to eat their supper onsite?
The festival is Sunday, December 5 from 1:30 – 4:00 with set-up beginning at noon. We need volunteers for all of the following. Email/text/call Kate (below) to let her know how you would like to be involved!
- Registration table
- Parking monitor
- Monitor Bouncy House
- Photo Booth setup
- Nativity
- Cars
- Cookie Decorating
- Card making
- Food/Supper (food paid for from budget)
- Bball/games
- Crafts
- Other activities
- Library (books will be provided)
- Hot Chocolate
- Photos with Santa
- Gospel Sharing
- Gift Distribution
