Welcome

We welcome you to Sts. Peter & Paul! It's been a trying and difficult few months, but we're able to once again gather in love as Christ's Body. Many changes have been implemented in order to comply with the State of Maryland, local authorities, and the Metropolis of NJ Three Phase Reopening Plan. Please take the time review these changes by visiting our website for more details.

Coffee Hour has been suspended until further notice, so please exit the Church after receiving antidoron.

I pray that you continue to remain safe and in good health. God Bless!

Hymns of the Day

Resurrectional Apolytikion in the Plagal Fourth Mode

From on high didst Thou descend, O Compassionate One; to burial of three days hast Thou submitted that Thou mightest free us from our passions. O our Life and Resurrection, Lord, glory be to Thee.

Seasonal Kontakion in the Second Mode

O Protection of Christians that cannot be put to shame, mediation unto the creator most constant: O despise not the voices of those who have sinned; but be quick, O good one, to come unto our aid, who in faith cry unto thee: Hasten to intercession and speed thou to make supplication, O thou who dost ever protect, O Theotokos, them that honor thee.

Gospel and Epistle Readings

Epistle Reading

2nd Sunday of Luke
The Reading is from St. Paul's Second Letter to the Corinthians 6:16-18; 7:1

Brethren, you are the temple of the living God; as God said, "I will live in them and move among them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Therefore come out from them, and be separate from them, says the Lord, and touch nothing unclean; then I will welcome you, and I will be a father to you, and you shall be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty."

Since we have these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from every defilement of body and spirit, and make holiness perfect in the fear of God.

2nd Sunday of Luke

Gospel Reading

2nd Sunday of Luke
The Reading is from Luke 6:31-36

The Lord said, "As you wish that men would do to you, do so to them. If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them. And if you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same. And if you lend to those from whom you hope to receive, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, to receive as much again. But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High; for he is kind to the ungrateful and the selfish. Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful."

2nd Sunday of Luke

St. Eugenia Ladies Philoptochos extends our gratitude to all parishioners who generously supported our efforts throughout the COVID-19 health crisis.  Our chapter has thus far been able to offer approximately $7,000 in financial aid to those in need within our community since March 2020. This was matched by National and Metropolis Philoptochos. Your support of our Emergency Social Services fundraising appeals is vital to achieving this major accomplishment of love and compassion for our fellow Orthodox Christians in Frederick.
