SUNDAY SCHOOL TODAY, APRIL 25
Children in Group C will attend class after communion.
PALM SUNDAY – CHRIST’S ENTRANCE INTO JERUSALEM
Today we celebrate Christ’s entrance into Jerusalem commonly referred to as Palm Sunday. This is one of the major feast days of the Church. As we gather today we encourage you to take the bay leaves as you enter the church and hold them as we bless the palm crosses at the end of the Liturgy. We celebrate Christ’s entrance with joy and marvel at all that he has done for us by his teaching, healing, and miracles. While we rejoice at these things, the greatest gift he offers to us is yet to come as we keep vigil with him through his betrayal, trial, passion, crucifixion, death and ultimately His resurrection. These life events change have changed the course of history and have provided for us as believers the pathway to eternal life.
HOLY WEEK WORSHIP
We welcome and encourage everyone to participate in worship services during Holy Week. Please consult the calendar and Holy Week Schedule for service times. You will be able to follow the services using your Holy Week Book or on the Ages Initiatives website (AgesInitiatives.org).
CHECK OUT OUR INSERTS AND FLYERS
Weekly, in the section following the announcements you will find inserts and flyers about special events and ministries. Please make sure to check out this section.
WE WELCOME YOUR PASCHAL DONATIONS
Many of our faithful desire to make a special donation during this time of the year. Some desire to make a special donation for flowers and others a financial offering. We welcome all of your donations and offer our thanks for your generosity. May our Risen Lord bless us all.
PARISH ASSEMBLY
Because a quorum was not established on Sunday, April 11, the spring Parish Assembly was held on Thursday, April 15 as previously announced. During the assembly reports were offered by the Parish Council, Fr. Tom (see report in the insert section), and parish ministries. In addition, the Parish Council provided a report on the state of the HVAC units for the Fellowship Hall and the Church. The unit in the hall is no longer functional and the church unit has severe issues and must be replaced. The Parish Assembly voted to authorize the Parish Council to replace both units once the bidding process is complete within a range of $75,000 to $100,000. Once the bid is accepted an update will be provided.

URGENTLY SEEKING AGAPE SERVICE READERS
On Easter Sunday, May 2, we celebrate the Agape Vesper Service. During this service we offer the Gospel reading in as many languages as possible. This reminds us that the proclamation of Christ’s resurrection was made throughout the whole world. If you read a language other than Greek and English and would like to participate at the service by reading the Gospel, please speak with Fr. Tom. We welcome your participation.
