Roanoke Greek Festival
It’s that time again to vote for our Roanoke Greek Festival as Best Festival 2022 in the annual Virginia Living Magazine. Since most festivals have either not taken place or been online for the last two years, the magazine states that this is our way of supporting our favorites until everyone rebuilds in 2022. It only takes a few minutes and the voting ends on January 31.
Type in Virginia Living Magazine Best of 2022 in your search engine and once you get to the Virginia Living homepage click on the VOTE HERE. Enter your email address, select the Southwest Region and go to NEXT at the bottom of the page and it will take you to the survey. Scroll down to #30 FESTIVAL and choose the Roanoke Greek Festival from the drop down menu and make sure you hit the SUBMIT button at the end of the survey for your vote to count. It’s as easy as that! We thank you in advance for taking a few minutes to support our Greek Festival.

Stewardship 2022
The stewardship committee would like to remind all stewards to please have their 2022 Commitment Cards returned to the church office. If you need a card, they are available in the Narthex or by request or you can just complete and mail the last page of the monthly bulletin. Thank you for making the ministries of our parish a priority in your lives.
Welcome to All Visitors!
Please join us for fellowship in the Church Hall immediately following the Divine Liturgy. For those visiting an Orthodox Church for the first time, please be aware that Holy Communion is a sign of unity of faith, which is only offered to Baptized and Chrismated Orthodox Christians. All present are welcomed to come forward and receive the antidoron (or blessed bread) which is distributed at the end of the service. For those interested in learning more about the Orthodox Christian faith, please feel free to speak with Fr. Nick after the service.

Verse: The heavens declare the glory of God.
The reading is from St. Paul's Letter to the Hebrews 13:7-16.
Brethren, remember your leaders, those who spoke to you the word of God; consider the outcome of their lives, and imitate their faith. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and for ever. Do not be led away by diverse and strange teachings; for it is well that the heart be strengthened by grace, not by foods, which have not benefited their adherents. We have an altar from which those who serve the tent have no right to eat. For the bodies of those animals whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest as a sacrifice for sin are burned outside the camp. So Jesus also suffered outside the gate in order to sanctify the people through his own blood. Therefore let us go forth to him outside the camp and bear the abuse he endured. For here we have no lasting city, but we seek the city which is to come. Through him then let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that acknowledge his name. Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.

Nor do men light a lamp and put it under a bushel, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. Think not that I have come to abolish the law and the prophets; I have come not to abolish them but to fulfill them. For truly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the law until all is accomplished. Whoever then relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but he who does them and teaches them shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven."
