Response to catastrophic fires Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Newburyport responded by soliciting donations for fire relief at its recent Greek Food Festival. The community response was overwhelming with $1440 collected in just 3 days! The church community matched that from the proceeds of the food festival, sending a total of $2880 to IOCC (International Orthodox Christian Charities) for fire relief efforts. See copy of letter to the editor in the Daily News. Another $329 was raised at the collection this past Sunday. Thank you to all who contributed!
Greek Food Festival
Dear GFF team, again, my sincere appreciation for your dedication in making the 2018 Greek Food Festival a success! As promised, I will schedule several ‘post festival wrap-up meetings’, so that you can share your feedback, esp. areas of potential improvement. This feedback will be documented and, upon agreement, acted upon for future years. I’ve scheduled three separate feedback-generating meetings, so hopefully, you can attend one of them. All will be held in the conference room and are as follows: Thursday, Aug. 16 – 7 pm, Sunday, Aug. 19 – after Liturgy, during coffee hour and Thursday, Aug. 23 – 7 pm. If you are unable to make any of the dates/times above, please feel free to send me your comments ahead of time (a few already have) – please call, text, or send me an e-mail (details below).
Warmest regards and with sincere appreciation for all you’ve done to make our Centennial Festival truly memorable.

Yankee Homecoming Parade! In celebration of our 100th Anniversary, we marched in the Yankee Homecoming Parade on Sunday, August 5th. Thank you very much to everyone who participated. We were cheered and thanked throughout the parade by the community who lined up along the parade route. Even though it was very hot, I think we all enjoyed the experience. And, we can do it again next year with our banner and maybe even a float....
