Newburyport Recycling Rules The City has gotten much stricter with what's allowed for curbside recycling. I will post this information in both kitchens, and always be available to answer any questions as the newer rules may cause some confusion. If we do not adhere to city regulations for recycling, we will be fined or worse, and curbside pick up will be discontinued and we will have to pay for its removal. Please be advised that absolutely NO TRASH or food waste can be put in the recycling barrels. This includes disposable paper cups and plates, and the mini creamer cups for coffee. As a quick guide please refer to this short list of unacceptable items and the posted signs. Again, this is per Newburyport City regulations. I sincerely thank everyone for helping to comply. Thank you! Cathy Chadwick.
-NO plastic bags or film/wrap plastic products
-NO soiled paper of any type
-NO moisture proof coated paper cups/plates (even if clean)
-NO hangers/wires
-NO snack bags or wrappers
-No styrofoam (even if stamped with recycle triangle logo)
-NO wrapping paper if embellished and with metallic print
Our 100th year celebrations wrap up with the annual Christmas Spectacular showcasing a variety of talent throughout the Parish. There will be a potluck lunch immediately following Divine Liturgy Sunday, December 16th. This celebration features our talented youth as we look to the bright future of our Parish here in Newburyport. For information about the Christmas Extravaganza, details and sign-up sheets will be found in the Narthex and on the website or contact Jennifer Cooper or Susan George.
The Christmas Pot Luck lunch and Extravaganza follows our beautiful traditional Christmas Pageant performed by the very youngest of our Parish. This important lesson and crowning glory of the season is enjoyed every year in the Nave as our children tell the story of the Birth of our Savior. Contact Melinda Patrick regarding roles in the Pageant and to volunteer to assist.
Please attend the last active 100th Anniversary meeting on Tuesday evening November 20th. Discussion topics will be financial accounting of the 100th Anniversary Events and planning for a service on the anniversary date, Saturday December 8th. In January and February we will meet to summarize the year, assist as possible with the publication of the Commemorative Book chronicling our history and this year of celebration and finalize our financial accounting.
We look forward to our next 100 years!
NEEDED: Backpacks for Foster Kids- This will be an ongoing family ministry project from now until the end of January. Please see the information in the Narthex.
