These Saints were from Aegae in Cilicia, brought up in piety by their parents. Zenobius was a physician, and healed many freely by the power of God; because of his virtue he was consecrated Bishop of Aegae. With his sister he was taken by Lysias the Governor, and after many tortures they were beheaded, about the year 290, during the reign of Diocletian.
Today we pray for the repose of the souls of the servants of God Departed Members of Philoptochos Society 4009 of Long Beach. May their memory be eternal.

Today, a second tray will be passed in church and all proceeds will benefit the Ecumenical Patriarchate; its programs and charities.
We will celebrate the annual “OXI” Day on Sunday, October 30, 2022 following church service in the Cultural Center during coffee hour.

Harvest Bake Sale: After Church Services on November 13, 2022, we will have our traditional Harvest Bake Sale fundraiser. Donations of baked goods are welcome, but come support and help us sell out, like we always do.
Trinity Christmas Tree: Beginning November 13, 2022, the Trinity Christmas Tree will be in the Narthex with the names of the children and their Christmas wishes. Let us put a smile on a kid’s face by making their Christmas wishes comes true.
Light the Path: Light the Path luncheon benefiting the Bishop Anthony Philoptochos Student Aid Endowment Fund (BAPSAEF) is on Saturday, November 19th at St. Paul's Greek Orthodox Church in Irvine. Invitations will be arriving soon. Reservations are open now. All information about Light the Path luncheon is available on the Philoptochos website now - www.sfphiloptochos.org - including in-person reservation, reservation for virtual program, opportunity drawing and donation page.
Holiday Bake Sale: We will start receiving orders for the upcoming holiday season for baklava, melomakarona, kourabiethes, karithopita, koulourakia and take and bake galaktoboureko beginning October 15 for pick-up before Thanksgiving and Christmas. Spanakopites and tiropites only on special order.
It’s already fall, and every year Philoptochos reaches out and feeds the less fortunate during this blessed season. You will be receiving our request for donations soon in the mail. Last year because of your generosity, we received and gave $6,000 to six charities that helped feed over 300 Families. Once again, this year, we are asking for your help. How Can You Help? A $30.00 Donation will Help Feed a Family.

It is also required for those who are preparing for Baptism/Chrismation. Have your bible ready! (Any English translation is fine).

The Southern California Cretans’ Association is hosting their annual Cretan Glendi on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at St. Anthony Greek Orthodox Church in Pasadena featuring musicians from Crete. Hors d’oeuvres and cocktails at 5:30 pm with dinner and dancing to follow. A percentage of the proceeds will benefit the Association's Scholarship Fund. We will have our rehearsals the following Thursdays: 11/3 & 12/8 from 7pm to 8:30pm in the hall.
For the rest of the year, we will be singing on these Sundays: 11/13, 11/27, 12/11, 12/18.
