Dear Church Family,
Christ is risen!
Truly He is risen!
Father Jon and I pray that you are all well.
As the weather begins to warm up, getting outdoors is a must, even in these unique Covid-19 times. The Earth is renewed! God is with us, always. It’s important to find goodness in life. Let’s keep planting seeds of faith in our children, especially during trying times.
This is a great time to do a little gardening together as a family! You can get seeds and planting dirt online delivered to your home, as well as other gardening supplies and tools.
Why not plant an herb garden in your yard or in window pots? Or perhaps a flower garden? Explain how Christ planted seeds of faith with his parables (stories with morals to them, causing people to think about and consider their own lives and actions).
Here are some great Bible passages with parables about seeds:
Matthew 13: 1-23
Matthew 13:24-30
Matthew 14: 31-32
As you plant the seeds, refer to the Bible passages. Remember to tell your children to thank God for the sunlight, water, and warmth needed to grow the seedlings.
Every day, pray over your garden as you water it. When you see the seedlings spring forth, thank God for Creation. This is a good time to read Genesis, Days 2,3,4. Encourage your children to give glory to God for the wonders of the Earth, and miracle of life.
Now more than ever, let’s keep a positive outlook and remember that even in the midst of trouble the sun comes out and warms the Earth, the rains come to nourish the Earth, and it it is renewed.
God brought His Son to us, to plant seeds of faith in our hearts and watch us grow close to Him.
This is the day that the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it!
With love for our risen Lord,
Presbytera Barbara
