Dormition Fast Continues: This annual remembrance of the falling asleep of the Theotokos is associated with a two week strict fast during the first 14 days of August in which the Paraklesis service is prayed several times through the fast.
ALL-MINISTRY CALENDAR MEETING: Calling all leaders of our Parish Ministries to please come tomorrow, August 9thth and we will meet after Paraklesis. Please bring a proposed calendar for the 2021-2022 Ecclesiastical Year or an outline, so that we can work out any conflicts from now. Groups that should be present if they have something to propose: Parish Council, Sunday School, FOCUS, Ladies Philoptochos, HOPE & JOY, GOYA, Young Adults, Hellenic Dancers, and Missions.
REGIONAL YOUTH AND YOUNG ADULT PARAKLESIS: Join with other youth from around the Metropolis as we gather together like we do at camp to worship God and to ask for the intercessions of the Theotokos. Our region will be together at 6pm on Thursday, August 12th at All Saints, Canonsburg. The other regions will be gathering on August 11th at 6pm at both Holy Trinity, Canton and Holy Trinity, Camp Hill.
SAXONBURG MONASTERY FEASTS: Due to construction at the Nativity of the Theotokos Monastery, the festal celebrations of Prophet Elias and Nativity of the Theotokos Monastery have been moved to the closest Saturdays, as well as the Memorial Day for Gerontissa Taxiarchia. Please see the flier attached in the bulletin insert section below.
Blessings of the Backpacks: This year Father Anastasios will be blessing all backpacks on Sunday, August 15 th. All
students—college, high school, middle school, elementary and pre-school are asked to bring their backpacks to church for this blessing.
It is our hope and prayer that God blesses our students as they begin the new school year. May the students be reminded of God’s love
and care that surround them each school day. Best wishes for the best school year ever.
