ARCHDIOCESAN YOUTH WORKER SAFETY TRAINING
Last summer the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America approved new Policies for the Safety of Youth and Children. Holy Trinity must comply with these new policies or we will no longer be allowed to have any youth ministry programs or events.
Compliance is a fairly simple process. First, all youth works must complete a registration form (and re-register each year). Second, all youth workers must complete online training each year. Finally, all youth workers must complete a background check every two years. The background check and online training will be performed by the Archdiocese safety vendor, Praesidium.
Youth Workers include anyone working in a youth ministry program or event such as Sunday school, Greek School, ANGELS/HOPE/JOY, The Christmas Pageant, and Hellenic dance. Parents supervising their own children in the Preschool Sunday school class are not considered youth workers.
If you are a youth worker or are interested in becoming a youth worker, please contact your ministry head, or Rob Shand to submit your information. Please feel free to contact Rob if you have any questions concerning the policies, compliance or whether you are considered a youth worker.
