TODAY
Fellowship Hour
All are invited to our coffee fellowship hour this morning . If you would like to sponsor our weekly fellowship hour, please contact the Parish Office.
DURING THE WEEK
We continue the Great Fast of Lent , generally fasting strictly on weekdays from all meat, regular fish, meat products, dairy, eggs, alcohol and (cooking) oils. Shellfish are permitted in an otherwise "vegan" diet. On Saturdays and Sundays during the fast, alcohol and oils are permitted. Fasting is an exercise for both physical and spiritual health, so in times of illness or under a physician's care, please follow your doctors' directions.
Likewise, prayer, worship and almsgiving--especially feeding those in need--are vital elements of our lenten observance.

Almsgiving in Lent: Donating in Time of Need:
Today we continue our annual Toiletries Drive to benefit The Haven House, a domestic violence shelter for women and children . Our drive will extend to Sunday, April 2. Donations of toiletry and sanitary products can be dropped off in the Narthex (foyer) on Sundays or at our Bookstand.
We are always accepting non-perishable foods to assist those in need, and items may be dropped off in the Narthex (foyer) at services on Sunday and Feastdays. Likewise, our Philoptochos Ladies are seeking donations of Coffee to assist the City Rescue Mission of Hammond, a local homeless shelter. Again, donations can be left in the Narthex or at the Parish Office during the week.
Thanks for the donations of 120 cans/packages of soups for the 2023 Souper Bowl of Caring Drive, which we have donated to the Saint Stanislaus Food Bank of East Chicago, IN.
Finally, as almsgiving is a vital element of Great Lent, please know that during our weekday lenten services, a collection will be made at the conclusion to benefit those in need within our greater community.
2023 Summer Greekfest: Keep the Date!
Due to scheduling conflicts, the Parish Council has decided it best to change the date of our summer festival from its customary weekend. This year Greekfest will be held on Saturday, June 24, and Sunday, June 25. We hope you will plan accordingly.

50th Wedding Anniversarty/85th Birthday
Due to the Pandemic, we stopped our long practice of honoring couples on the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary or persons on their 85th birthday. If you know of a couple or person that has not been rightly honored, please inform us through the Parish Office or contact Father David directly.
Although we honor couples and persons once (and it may occur "after the fact" if not done at the time), we do make an exception for those reaching their 100th year as well.
