Our Fall Greek Festival was different this year because of the pandemic. It was a drive through, take out food festival. We did not know what to expect, but thank God, we were blessed with good support from our neighbors. Our patron saint, St. Demetrios, was with us. We had a successful event and the parish council will provide details in the near future.
I would like to take the opportunity to thank the good and faithful, hard working volunteers. So many came out and lent a hand where they could. It was a blessing to see them all displaying their deep love for St. Demetrios, and as your priest, I thank you.
It is a wonderful thing to have dedicated parishioners who give of their time and talent working for the good of the Church. This is stewardship in action. May the Lord's Blessing be upon you.
Even more impressive to me than the hard work was the display of unity and harmony of all involved. Bravo to all! We give, we work, and we sacrifice that we may have a Church, our parish home, for generations to come. We could have used a few more hands, but the truth is, for the size of our parish and considering the circumstances of the Coronavirus, we actually had more people working proportionally than what is found in larger parishes.
Let us continue to endeavor to build up the Body of Christ in other ways as well, but always with our cooperation and combined efforts... in love. As St. Paul said, "we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another.” (1 Corinthians 9:7)
