I am wrote this from my office as the Greek Festival is going on all about me. It is off to a good start. People are coming, folks are helping and I expect a successful Festival. Something we all should want to be a part of.
If I did not see you yesterday, I do hope you will be here today. We are one beautiful community. There is a lot of love amongst us and this love includes love for our Church. We should all want to pitch in for the good of St. Demetrios so I encourage you to come, support and lend a hand.
In our Christian life, there are many ways in which we can help one another, share our talents for the greater good, support the parish, and even to lead the community. With this in mind, please prayerfully consider the following which was written on the wall of Mother Teresa’s own room at her Home for Children in Calcutta, India. It is good for us to ponder on her words and derive some inspiration from her willingness to do whatever she could.
Do It Anyway
People are often unreasonable, irrational, and self-centered.
Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives.
Be kind anyway.
If you are successful, you will win some unfaithful friends and some genuine enemies.
Succeed anyway.
If you are honest and sincere, people may deceive you.
Be honest and sincere anyway.
What you spend years creating, others could destroy overnight.
Build anyway.
If you find serenity and happiness, some may be jealous.
Be happy anyway.
The good you do today, will often be forgotten.
Do good anyway.
Give the best you have, and it will never be enough.
Give your best anyway.
In the final analysis, it is between you and God.
It was never between you and them anyway.
