The Coffee Hour program continues to be very successful! This program ensures that we have coffee and after-Liturgy refreshments, not only for our Parishioners, but also as hospitality to our guests. The Coffee Hour can be the very important first contact for new members to our community, as well as an important fellowship time for all of our existing members.
With this program, everyone who is a member gets the experience of hosting a Coffee Hour without the burden of doing it alone. It also provides a forum for the group of members each week to coordinate, work together and get to know one another better. It really can be a lot of fun!
Help support our coffee hour by adding your name to one of the teams listed below. Teams are called upon every 8 weeks or so, and each team member only has to bring one or two items. Email the office to add your name.
Parishioners, please allow only coffee hour team members to park in the driveway so they can have easier unloading access.

How can you use your talents to help our church grow and to help others grow in their faith?
Among the duties of a Parish Council member are:
Property maintenance, financial management, long range planning, educational programs and fellowship activities of the parish.
A Parish Council member attends Church, attends meetings, helps out on events. To be a good council member requires a lot of time, work, enthusiasm, and interest. This could also be the most spiritually rewarding volunteer position you will ever hold with the parish.
Please contact Fr. Florin or Eric Richards for more information.
Our ladies are taking a stand to make the kitchen in the parish home more functional to allow for more efficient fundraising support for our church (greek festival, bake sale, christmas/easter breads, catering, etc). Plans are in process to convert the gar
age into the new kitchen. It is a big effort and we know our awesome Philoptochos is up to the challenge. We have enough funds to complete the conversion, but are running short of equipping the new space with suitable appliances. Please consider making a donation to our Philoptochos so we can have these appliances ready to install in time for our Christmas bake sale. Items needed are:
· New oven and vent hood: $3,170
· Air Condition system: $4,000
· Sink: $438
· Stainless steel tables: $3
· Kitchen Faucet: $119
· Mop sink: $280
Any size donation would be gratefully accepted, and are tax deductible. May God bless all of us and the remodeling effort, so that we can have a kitchen we can work in and put to good use.
The course is broken into 8 weekly sessions of approximately 2 hours each. The seminars are open to catechumens and anyone who wishes to learn more about the Holy Orthodox Church. Upcoming sessions:
Session 5: Topics - Church History (The early church); The Ecumenical Councils; The Great Schism; The Crusades
Session 6: Topics - Developments in East and West; Orthodoxy in America; Persectuion in the Modern Church
Session 7: Topics - Spirituality; The Beatitudes; The Great Virtue of Love; Prayer, Fasting & Almsgiving
Session 8: Topics - Sexuality; Marriage and Family; Sickness, Suffering & Death; The Kingdom of Heaven; Holy Week
For more information, see Michael or Angela Loveless
We will have Sunday School immediately after communion. We invite all youth present from Pre-K to Senior High to join us in activities to grow as Orthodox Christians and prepare for our Oxi Day program. We ask parents to bring their children on the 28th for our St John’s celebration of this important day in Greek history.
Church School Registration Forms are available in the Narthex and online.
We are looking for volunteers to help with this Ministry. This is first contact with parishioners and/or guests visiting us for the first time. You do not need to be on Parish Council to volunteer for this ministry. A smile and gentle demeanor goes a long way in welcoming a newcomer to our church. Please contact the office to volunteer.

Of the many ways of supporting our Church, there are few which stand out as uniquely personal offerings of faith. The offering of Prosforo bread for the Divine Liturgy is one of them. We are thankful to the handful of ladies who have faithfully fulfilled this responsibility over the years and we invite more of our faithful - especially young families with children - to make this a part of their lives as well. Want to be added to our Prosforo list? Please see Maria Simeon.
Please make sure that Prosforo is in church before the start of the Orthros service on Sunday. Please write the date (or put a sticker with the date) on the plastic bags with the Prosforo. That way the oldest will be used first. Thank you for your help.

Tenth Orthros Gospel
The Reading is from John 21:1-14
At that time, being raised from the dead, Jesus revealed himself to the disciples by the Sea of Tiberias; and he revealed himself in this way. Simon Peter, Thomas called the Twin, Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, the sons of Zebedee, and two others of his disciples were together. Simon Peter said to them, "I am going fishing." They said to him, "We will go with you." They went out and got into the boat; but that night they caught nothing. Just as day was breaking, Jesus stood on the beach; but the disciples did not know that it was Jesus. Jesus said to them, "Children, have you any fish?" They answered him, "No." He said to them, "Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some." So they cast it, and now they were not able to haul it in, for the quantity of fish. The disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, "It is the Lord!" When Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he put on his clothes, for he was stripped for work, and sprang into the sea. But the other disciples came in the boat, dragging the net full of fish, for they were not far from the land, but about a hundred yards off.
When they got out on land, they saw a charcoal fire there, with fish lying on it, and bread. Jesus said to them, "Bring some of the fish that you have just caught." So Simon Peter went aboard and hauled the net ashore, full of large fish, a hundred and fifty-three of them; and although there were so many, the net was not torn. Jesus said to them, "Come and have breakfast." Now none of the disciples dared ask him, "Who are you?" They knew it was the Lord. Jesus came and took the bread and gave it to them, and so with the fish. This was now the third time that Jesus was revealed to the disciples after he was raised from the dead.

Prokeimenon. 4th Mode. Psalm 103.24,1.
O Lord, how manifold are your works. You have made all things in wisdom.
Verse: Bless the Lord, O my soul.
The reading is from St. Paul's Letter to the Galatians 2:16-20.
Brethren, knowing that a man is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ, and not by works of the law, because by works of the law shall no one be justified. But if, in our endeavor to be justified in Christ, we ourselves were found to be sinners, is Christ then an agent of sin? Certainly not! But if I build up again those things which I tore down, then I prove myself a transgressor. For I through the law died to the law, that I might live to God. I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me; and the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

6th Sunday of Luke
The Reading is from Luke 8:26-39
At that time, as Jesus arrived at the country of the Gadarenes, there met him a man from the city who had demons; for a long time he had worn no clothes and he lived not in a house but among the tombs. When he saw Jesus, he cried out and fell down before him, and said with a loud voice, "What have you to do with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beseech you, do not torment me." For he had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. (For many a time it had seized him; he was kept under guard, and bound with chains and fetters, but he broke the bonds and was driven by the demon into the desert.) Jesus then asked him, "What is your name?" And he said, "Legion"; for many demons had entered him. And they begged him not to command them to depart into the abyss. Now a large herd of swine was feeding there on the hillside; and they begged him to let them enter these. So he gave them leave. Then the demons came out of the man and entered the swine, and the herd rushed down the steep bank into the lake and were drowned. When the herdsmen saw what happened, they fled, and told it in the city and in the country. Then people went out to see what had happened, and they came to Jesus, and found the man from whom the demons had gone, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed and in his right mind; and they were afraid. And those who had seen it told them how he who had been possessed with demons was healed. Then all the people of the surrounding country of the Gadarenes asked him to depart from them; for they were seized with great fear; so he got into the boat and returned. The man from whom the demons had gone begged that he might be with him; but he sent him away, saying, "Return to your home, and declare how much God has done for you." And he went away, proclaiming throughout the whole city how much Jesus had done for him.
