"Our Mission Statement"
As Giving To Us By Our Lord and Savior
Then the King will say to those on His right hand, "Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me."
Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, "Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothed You? Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?" And the King will answer and say to them, "Assuredly, I say to you, in as much as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me".
Matthew 25: 34-40

From the Office of Father Michael
Saint Elizabeth the Wonderworker of Constantinople
Commemorated April 24
In you, O Elizabeth, was carefully preserved what is according to the image, for you took up the Cross and followed Christ. By so doing you taught us to disregard the flesh for it passes away, but to care instead for the soul since it is immortal. Therefore, O blessed Elizabeth, your spirit rejoices with the angels.
Beloved In Christ,
Χριστος Ανεστη!
Saint Elizabeth the Wonderworker was born in Constantinople; it was disclosed to her mother that she would become a chosen vessel of the Lord.
Elizabeth’s parents sent her to the monastery of Saints Cosmas and Damian as a child, where she grew up in an atmosphere of fasting and constant prayer; God also granted her the gift of healing physical and spiritual illnesses. All the sisters of the monastery grew very chose Elizabeth especially the abbess of Monastery.
The Saint’s asceticism was very austere; for many years the only thing she ate was grass and vegetables, and would not partake of bread, wine, or oil. Saint Elizabeth ate nothing at all during the forty days of the Great Fast or the Advent Fast. For three years she did not raise up her eyes to the heavens, out of humility to God, but would look constantly to God with the eyes of her souls.
Saint Elizabeth performed many miracles: she healed a woman from hemorrhaging of blood, who had been ill for many years, she cast out unclean spirits from people and many other healings of infirmities. At her tomb many were healed of various illnesses, and the blind received their sight. Many were cured with just some earth from her grave.
It is not know exactly when Saint Elizabeth lived, but Tradition has her living between the sixth and ninth centuries.
In The Resurrected Lord’s Love,
Father Michael
