"Our Mission Statement"
As Giving To Us By Our Lord and Savior
Then the King will say to those on His right hand, "Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me."
Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, "Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothed You? Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?" And the King will answer and say to them, "Assuredly, I say to you, in as much as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me".
Matthew 25: 34-40

The Holy Martyr Justin the Philosopher
Commemorated June 1
O Justin, teacher of divine knowledge, You shone with the radiance of true philosophy. You were wisely armed against the enemy. Confessing the truth you contended alongside the martyrs, With them, ever entreat Christ our God to save our souls!
Troparion Chanted In Tone 4
The whole Church of God is adorned with the wisdom of your divine words, O Justin; the world is enlightened by the radiance of your life. By the shedding of your blood, you have received a crown. As you stand before Christ with the angels, pray unceasingly for us all!
Kontakion Chanted In Tone 2
Beloved In Christ,
The Holy Martyr Justin the Philosopher was born in 114 at Sychem, of Samaria: Justin’s parents were Greek pagans.
As a child the saint exhibited a keen devotion to the knowledge of Truth. He studied several Schools of Greek philosophy and concluded that none of these pagan schools revealed the way to the knowledge of the true God.
Justin accepted Christ at the age of thirty and was baptized. From that time Saint Justin dedicated his God given talents and considerable philosophical knowledge to preaching the Lord’s Gospel among the pagans. He traveled throughout the Roman Empire preaching, “Whosoever is able to proclaim Truth and does not proclaim it will be condemned by God”. Saint Justin later established a School of Christian Philosophy.
In the year 155, during the persecution of the Christians by Emperor Antoninus Pius, Saint Justin personally gave to the Emperor an Apology in defense of two Christians.
In the Apology he established the deceptiveness of the slander against Christians accused unjustly for merely having Christian names. The Apology had such a positive effect upon the emperor that the Emperor ceased the persecution and sent Saint Justin with an imperial edict to Asia Minor. This edict allowed Justin to proclaim the message of Christ throughout the Empire.
When Justin returned to Italy he continued to preach the Gospel everywhere, converting many pagans to Christianity. Although when arriving in Rome, his envious foe named Crescentius, who Justin defeated in many debates, brought many false allegations against him before the Roman court. Saint Justin was arrested and subjected to torture and suffered martyrdom in 165. The holy relics of Saint Justin the Philosopher are found in Rome.
In His Love,
Father Michael
