Lenten Schedule
Kathara Deftera/ Clean Monday is just around the corner. This begins our Lenten journey to Pascha. One aspect of Lent is the increased number of opportunities to participate in the divine services. Don't let the excuse of being busy or tired get in the way (these are only temptations of the evil one to distract us!). Everyone should try to come to at least one of each of the services during Lent; that is surely not a great imposition or trial. If you keep in mind the hours of suffering our Lord went through in His Passion and Death, one extra service is hardly anything for us!
Here is the schedule for the first week of Lent (March 1-8)
Sunday, March 1
Sunday of Forgiveness

Saturday, May 9--Taverna Night--the Outreach Ministries is teaming up with a group of interested Parishioners to plan a Taverna Night. This is a bigger fundraiser; part of the funds will help the Outreach in their philanthropic activities; the greater part will help the church with its expenses. If anyone would be interested in helping out planning this event, please see Elena Newman or Presbytera Anna.
Interested in a Little Adventure?
We have begun our On Line Book Club. We are "meeting" on Thursdays at 7:30 pm (in the comfort of our own homes), and are reading and discussing Everyday Saints. If you are interested in joining us, please talk to Fr. Constantine.
Ask the Priest
Sometimes we have questions, but cannot seem to find time to ask Father. Now there is opportunity to leave these questions in the "Ask the Priest Box" located in the Church Hall (it's bright green--you can't miss it!). Father will field the questions once a month in the sermon, as well as in the weekly and monthly bulletins. You can sign your name or not, it doesn't matter. No question is unworthy of attention!
The question a person asked about the Nephilim, a race of giants in the Book of Genesis, will be answered in the March monthly bulletin.
This Month's Item Collection
One of the Fall projects of the Mother Maria of Paris Outreach Ministries is to provide convenient “bags of help”, filled with hygiene items and some snacks, for our parishioners to take and to give to the many people we see on street corners or sidewalks asking for help. In order to fill these bags, we are asking for you help in collecting hygiene items, such as regular bars of soap, travel size shampoo, toothpaste, deodorant, mouth wash, etc., toothbrushes, dental floss, and other such items, as well as snacks such as granola bars, protein bars, etc. We can also use warm socks. There will be a basket in the Church Hall for your generous donations. Thank you once again from “the least of our brothers and sisters.”
Thank you to everyone who has taken a "bag of help" to hand out to the men and women who are standing out in the cold, asking for some material help. There will be more available soon.
