This will also feature the Pan-Orthodox Choir under the direction of Fr. Tom Soroka. Vespers will be followed by fellowship and Lenten refreshments.
GOYA LENTEN KICKOFF: All GOYAns are called to join us Sunday evening, March 1st for Forgiveness Vespers starting at 5pm followed by cheese Pizza (our last dairy filled meal at the Church) & a discussion on Lent.

HOUSE BLESSING MAKE-UP & FINAL SCHEDULE: If you scheduled for your house to be blessed and it hasn’t happened yet, please expect a call early this week to book it before Lent Starts.
LENTEN COFFEE HOURS & LUNCHEONS: From Clean Monday (March 2nd) until Pascha (April 19th) all food at Church events will comply with the fasting schedule of the Orthodox Church. The Great Fast calls for abstention from all meat, fish (minus shellfish), dairy & eggs, with wine & oil being allowed on certain days (and fish allowed on Annunciation & Palm Sunday). So essentially, Donuts will go away for 6 weeks and no dairy or eggs will be served at the luncheons. This is one of the ways our Church experience can teach us that the fast is possible, attainable, and not as torturous as it may sound.
GREEK SCHOOL: During Lent, on nights that we have Presanctified Liturgy Scheduled (March 4 & 18, April 1 & 8), Adult & Children Greek Schools will start at 5:30pm and end at 6:30pm, in time for everyone to join us for Presanctified Liturgy.
LENTEN EVENING SERVICES: In an effort to make things easier, when we have Presanctified Liturgy and Salutations services, they will both be starting at 6:30pm.
ST. PHOTIOS NOMINATIONS DUE NEXT SUNDAY: We are looking for nominations of living members of our parish who have shown exemplary service to our Church to receive our Parish’s St. Photios Award from the Metropolis. Forms can be found on the Pangari.
