PHILOPTOCHOS MEETING SUNDAY DURING COFFEE HOUR! All members are requested to attend as we will be discussing plans for our potluck buffet. 2020 Dues need to be remitted to the Pittsburgh Metropolis and National Headquarters in New York in March so please see Harriet Sickles asap so that we may register an accurate account of our chapter.

GOYA Spring Retreat @ Camp Nazareth – “Real World, Real You”: Fr. Michael Gavrilos will talk about living your best Orthodox life and staying true to Christ. Cost: $175 (GAPA offering $100 and GOYA offering $50) = Only $25. Registration closes March 15th. Register Here
MARCH HOPE & JOY GATHERING – MARCH 15: Father is going to talk to our Children about St. Patrick and they will learn about a preayer from this special saint.
LENTEN COFFEE HOURS & LUNCHEONS: From Clean Monday (March 2nd) until Pascha (April 19th) all food at Church events will comply with the fasting schedule of the Orthodox Church. The Great Fast calls for abstention from all meat, fish (minus shellfish), dairy & eggs, with wine & oil being allowed on certain days (and fish allowed on Annunciation & Palm Sunday). So essentially, Donuts will go away for 6 weeks and no dairy or eggs will be served at the luncheons. This is one of the ways our Church experience can teach us that the fast is possible, attainable, and not as torturous as it may sound. Sunday is the last day for dairy to be served at Church functions. Kali Sarakosti / Blessed Lent!
GREEK SCHOOL: During Lent, on nights that we have Presanctified Liturgy Scheduled (March 4 & 18, April 1 & 8), Adult & Children Greek Schools will start at 5:30pm and end at 6:30pm, in time for everyone to join us for Presanctified Liturgy.
LENTEN EVENING SERVICES: In an effort to make things easier, when we have Presanctified Liturgy and Salutations services, they will both be starting at 6:30pm.
ST. PHOTIOS NOMINATIONS DUE SUNDAY: We are looking for nominations of living members of our parish who have shown exemplary service to our Church to receive our Parish’s St. Photios Award from the Metropolis. Forms can be found on the Pangari.
