OCF REGIONAL RETREAT STUDENTS NEED HOUSING!
We will again be hosting the OCF Regional Retreat. We will be hosting Orthodox college students from around the state and are reaching out to our community to help house our young adults. If you are willing please contact the Church office by email or by phone and let us know you can let a college kid crash at your place the nights of March 22nd and March 23rd.
Lenten Lecture Series continues this Wednesday, March 20th
We are continuing our 2019 Lenten Lecture Series this Wednesday. Our second speaker is Dean Polizos who will be sharing with us the Church’s love for the Mother of Our God, The Theotokos and Ever Virgin Mary. Hope to see many of you there!
GREEK FESTIVAL SURVEY!
The Parish Council has asked a small number of individuals to do a deep analysis of the Raleigh Greek Festival and make recommendations for the long-term future of the event. The group is studying all aspects of the event including what our community thinks and feels about the festival by using an anonymous survey. Our hope is that everyone will complete the survey. Please complete this survey as soon as possible before March 20th Thank you for giving time to this important task
LENTEN RETREAT
Saturday April 6th 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM - Guest Speaker Presvytera Mary Christy - Blueprints for the Little Church by Elissa Bjeletich & Caleb Shoemaker - Lenten refreshments provided as well as childcare. All members of the Community are welcome. Sponsored by the MOLO Ministry. Sunday of Orthodoxy Vespers on Sunday March 17 5:00 PM
Fr. James Guirguis of St Raphael Orthodox Church wishes to invite all of us to join him and his parish family at St. Raphael mission in Fuquay-Varina for the Sunday of Orthodoxy Vespers on Sunday March 17 starting at 5 pm. A light dinner will be served after the service. Their address is 1990 Stewart St, Fuquay-Varina, NC. If possible please let him know if you plan to attend.
LADIES PHILOPTOCHOS SELLING EASTER BREAD
The Ladies Philoptochos will be selling Tsoureki (Traditional Greek Easter Bread) made by our members for $15 per loaf. They are beautifully packaged in a box. Orders will be taken in the hall on March 31st, April 7th and April 14th. Orders may be picked up April 20th at the Communion Breakfast following Liturgy.
Holy Trinity Bookstore
If you pre-ordered Blueprint for the Little Church, they have arrived at the bookstore. There are a few additional copies available for purchase. Also, some parishioners have expressed a desire for the new liturgy books. They are available at the bookstore.
AHJ AND ST JOHN THE MERCIFUL SNACK DRIVE FOR HAVEN HOUSE
Please join Angels, Hope and Joy and St. John the Merciful in collecting snack items for the youth program at Havens House. We will have a table set up during the Lenten lecture service Wednesday night, March 27th.

College and Graduate School Scholarships
Applications for college and graduate school scholarships are available in the church lobby and will be available on the church website. The application is due Friday, April 5th. There are many scholarships available based on a variety of criteria. If you have questions or require additional information contact Stephanie Lyford or Penny Gallins.
GREEK INDEPENDENCE DAY
AHEPA will be celebrating Greek Independence Day on Sunday, March 24th after Church with a short program presented by our Greek School. Young members from our Hellenic dance group will entertain us with traditional dances and we will also be serving a Lenten luncheon. The adult lunch will include shrimp, pasta, Greek-style green beans, a salad, rolls, dessert, and coffee/tea/water. The advance adult ticket’s purchase {3/03 through 3/17} will be $15.00 each {$18.00 for day of the event}. The kid’s lunch will have fish sticks, fries, a salad, rolls, a dessert, and coffee/tea/water. The advanced kid’s ticket {17 and under} will be $6.00 each {$8.00 for day of the event}. PLEASE help us out and purchase your tickets early. In advance of your support, AHEPA wants to say “Thank You” for helping us honor our Greek heritage.
PHILOPTOCHOS NEWS
We are collecting summer clothing and shoes for men, women and children to send to Venezuela. Elham Flaherty has a co-worker whose family needs these items. The collection boxes are in the Fellowship Hall at the St. John’s table. We will be shipping the packages on March 27th. We will accept rice, dried beans and cans of tuna to ship with the clothing. The situation is dire over there.
Our Rise Against Hunger will take place on Saturday, March 30th. We are hosting this event with AHEPA to package over 10,000 meals for people in need.
