Communion Guidelines:
Baptized and Chrismated Orthodox Christians who have properly prepared according to the Holy Orthodox Church guidelines may receive Holy Communion. Please allow our Sunday School children to receive Holy Communion first and wait for the ushers to dismiss your row.

Sunday Memorials, Artoclasias and Other Blessings:
Please inform the church office well in advance of Sunday mornings for all memorials, artoclasias, 40 day blessings and other blessings so as not to disrupt the Divine Liturgy. If any requests or lists of names are received after the Great Entrance they will have to wait until the following Sunday.
****Additionally, in order to preserve the sanctity of the Divine Liturgy, please wait to light candles in the St. Nectarios Chapel at the correct time. If one arrives after the Great Entrance, they will have to wait until the end of Liturgy, while the Andithoron is being given out, to light candles in the Chapel.
50/50 Raffle Tickets:
There is still time to get tickets!!! St. George is selling 50/50 raffle tickets and the drawing will take place at 6:00pm on Sunday May 5, 2019 at the annual Greek Festival. Tickets are $20.00 each and can be obtained by contacting any of our Parish Council members. All proceeds to benefit the General Fund of St. George.
We ask that you please sell or purchase raffle tickets as it is an excellent way for everyone to support our Church.
The Hellenic Musical Society Scholarhsip:
HMS awards scholarships to graduating high school seniors entering a college, university, or trade school, who demonstrate musical talent and academic achievement. Applications are due May 22nd, 2018. For questions or applications contact: hellenicmusicalsoc@gmail.com
St. George Endowment Fund Scholarship:
On June 9, 2019, the Endowment Committee will be awarding three memorial scholarships to graduating high school seniors from our community in the name of Aspasia Smith, the endowment fund’s original benefactor. The scholarship awards will be in the amount of $750, $500 and $250 respectively. For more information about the memorial scholarship, please inquire at the church office.
Ask Fr. Peter:
We invite all parishioners to submit questions to Fr. Peter regarding the Orthodox faith and services of the church. Fr. Peter will select one question each week and take a few minutes to answer it. Questions can be emailed to: pastor@stgeorgeclifton.org.
Choir News:
The Choir is in need of more volunteers so if you love to sing and want to enhance our Sunday services with your voice, please see Angelo Duvlaris (aduvo@optonline.net) or Yiannis Magiros (yannis52@optonline.net). Prior knowledge of Greek is not necessary. Choir practice is now on Sundays at 12:00pm.
St. George Vacation Church School:
Since schools in our area have various end dates our VCS will take place on Thursday, June 27, Friday, June 28 and continue on Monday, July 1, Tuesday, July 2, and end on Wednesday, July 3. St. George Stewardship 2019:
Goal – $220,000 Pledged – $123,482 Received – $80,761
Pledges – 155 Archdiocese Average – $1,200 St. George Average – $797
A well-known fact by now is that our Parish relies primarily on its stewardship donations to pay its operating expenses. Our operating expenses for 2019 are budgeted at $632,000. Our budget is based on the belief that everyone will fulfill their promise of Stewardship. So please don’t forget to submit your 2019 Stewardship Pledge card. Thank you to all of our Stewards who have made their pledges and donations so far for 2019. Our Saint George parish depends upon your generous donations to envision our goals and enhance our ministries and outreach. Pledge cards can be found in the Narthex, Atrium or Church office.
