Communion Guidelines:
Baptized and Chrismated Orthodox Christians who have properly prepared, according to the Holy Orthodox Church guidelines, may receive Holy Communion. Please allow our Sunday School children to receive Holy Communion first and wait for the ushers to dismiss your row.

Cemetery Schedule:
On Memorial Day, Monday, May 27th, Fr. Peter will be at Ridgelawn Cemetery at 9:00am and at Crest Haven Cemetery at 10:15am.
Sunday Memorials, Artoclasias and Other Blessings:
Please inform the church office well in advance of Sunday mornings for all memorials, artoclasias, 40 day blessings and other blessings so as not to disrupt the Divine Liturgy. If any requests or lists of names are received after the Great Entrance they will have to wait until the following Sunday.
****Additionally, in order to preserve the sanctity of the Divine Liturgy, please wait to light candles in the St. Nectarios Chapel at the correct time. If one arrives after the Great Entrance, they will have to wait until the end of Liturgy, while the Andithoron is being given out, to light candles in the Chapel.
The Hellenic Musical Society Scholarship:
HMS awards scholarships to graduating high school seniors entering a college, university, or trade school, who demonstrate musical talent and academic achievement. Applications are due May 22nd, 2018. For questions or applications contact: hellenicmusicalsoc@gmail.com.
St. George Endowment Fund Scholarship:
On June 9, 2019, the Endowment Committee will be awarding three memorial scholarships to graduating high school seniors from our community in the name of Aspasia Smith, the endowment fund’s original benefactor. The scholarship awards will be in the amount of $750, $500 and $250 respectively. For more information about the memorial scholarship, please inquire at the church office.
St. Paraskevi Philoptochos:
SAVE THE DATE! Thursday, June 13, 2019. Philoptochos is sponsoring another bowling event at Boonton Lanes. Check in is at 6:45PM and bowling is from 7:00PM to 9:00PM. The fee is $30.00 and includes bowling, shoes, food and prizes. Donations will also be collected for St. Michael's Home, https://www.stmichaelshome.org. Please see Phyllis Magiros or any other Philoptochos member to sign up. Come and join us for an evening of fun!
Metropolis Clergy Laity Banquet Honorees:
On Monday, May 13, 2019 at the Metropolis of NJ Clergy Laity banquet, members of each church who have served and contributed to the success of the church and its ministries were honored. This year’s honorees from our community were Kostas Katsanos as the Steward of our community, Nicholas Marcopulos as our Parish Council member, Olga Drimones from the Philoptochos, Effie Koleros as our GOYAN, Christothea Pandazis as our Choir member and Alex Golematis as a senior member of our community. Additionally, Denise Cecchini received the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of NJ service award. A well deserved CONGRATULATIONS to them all!
Orthodox Faith Class:
Due to Ecclesiastical scheduling conflicts, the Orthodox Faith Class will be on hiatus for the summer and will resume on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 from 10:00am – 11:30am.
Kali Parea:

Choir News:
The Choir is in need of more volunteers so if you love to sing and want to enhance our Sunday services with your voice, please see Angelo Duvlaris (aduvo@optonline.net) or Yiannis Magiros (yannis52@optonline.net). Prior knowledge of Greek is not necessary. Choir practice is now on Sundays at 12:00pm.
St. George Vacation Church School:
Since schools in our area have various end dates our VCS will take place on Thursday, June 27, Friday, June 28 and continue on Monday, July 1, Tuesday, July 2, and end on Wednesday, July 3. St. George Stewardship 2019:

A well-known fact by now is that our Parish relies primarily on its stewardship donations to pay its operating expenses. Our operating expenses for 2019 are budgeted at $632,000. Our budget is based on the belief that everyone will fulfill their promise of Stewardship. So please don’t forget to submit your 2019 Stewardship Pledge card. Thank you to all of our Stewards who have made their pledges and donations so far for. Our Saint George parish depends upon your generous donations to envision our goals and enhance our ministries and outreach. Pledge cards can be found in the Narthex, Atrium or Church office.
